Classic game in the Patriot League quarters last night - our old friend Bucknell (seeded #7 out of 8) beat Navy in triple OT on a 40-foot prayer. John Griffin (a Xavier killer last year) hit the shot after Bucknell had 2 seconds on the clock 94 feet from the basket.

Man I love the smaller conference tourneys where all the teams need to win to get to the dance.

The whole Patriot League first round was crazy yesterday. Four games decided by a total of 8 points and two OT games.

That sucks. It seems like forever since Army or Navy has made the Dance. I thought Navy had a good chance this year.

Army's still alive. When is the last time they made the NCAA Tournament?

Navy's last year was 1998; I can't remember the last time Army got it (if they ever got in, period).

Army has never made it.

Belmont made it to the A-Sun championship game, albeit on a VERY questionable technical called against East Tennessee State in the final 30 seconds. Creighton advanced to the Valley semifinals and will face off against Drake today.

I think that's it as far as Xavier's OOC opponents today.

Not good news for the bubble teams tonight - San Diego is about to wrap up the WCC championship at home; the WCC will be a 3-bid league with Gonzaga and Saint Mary's firmly locked into the Dance.

I think St. Mary's is going to have to sweat it out.

Agree. St. Mary's is clearly on the bubble now. Would it be an injustice if Gonzaga was the odd man out? I'm not sure who've they've played so i'm not sure.

I think St. Mary's is still in good shape. They have no bad losses and wins over Gonzaga, Drake, Oregon, and San Diego. The weakness in their resume is that they have no notable road wins. But when you stack them up against other bubble teams, they look pretty good.

Gonzaga too has some good wins, including Saint Marys, Western Kentucky, and Oklahoma?

Went ahead and pull the Zags schedule. They lost to Oklahoma, Memphis, St. Mary's, Texas Tech, and Tenn.

THey have beat; WKU, St. Joe's, VT, Uconn, UGA, St. Mary's,
