...and Georgia goes on the road and beats #21 Missouri. What is happening?
Anything that helps the RPI is a good thing. Go Dawgs.

Mark Fox's father just passed away last week and his players consoled him as he cried on the sidelines when they won. A nice feel good story for the Bulldogs.

Georgia stinks. They're arguably the fourth best team in the state of Georgia, which a state without any good teams.
Mizzou isn't world beaters, but they are at home. This is one of the biggest surprises of the season. A HUGE upset. This isn't the same flavor of a traditional upset where a good team from a small conference is under the radar and steps it up to take down a heavyweight. This is the case of a team that sucks beating a team that's good. Wow.
Meanwhile, Wazzu, another really bad team, almost beat Colorado. The two games were going on simultaneously. Must have been a full moon or something last night.
Miami won at UNC, and that wasn't even close to being the biggest surprise of the evening.

I'm missing something here. How does Georgia's win help our RPI?

It doesn't at the moment, but it will eventually. Opponent's opponent's winning percentage is a factor in RPI and both Alabama and Tennessee will play (and hopefully defeat) Georgia. It won't be much, but like I said, we'll take every little bit of help we can get.

Might help more if they Beat Mizzou. Mizzou is in the SEC, you know.
