Thanks, American X!
Look forward to meeting you there. Hopefully there's a good turnout from Xavier Nation.
Thought Mr. Neutral would have passed this along to his fellow-Chicago chapter brethren!?

Look for myself, Mrs. X, Baby X, and Baby X2 at the reception. However, I will be attending the game with a group of holligans.

If anyone is visiting Chicago for this game and is looking for recommendations, please post them here and we will send you in the right direction and not to some utterly shady and dangerous South Side destination, promise.

You might consider staying in Chicago as well. Some of the top hotels have very good rates this time of year (or use Priceline for even better rates). The deal Xavier put together at the Westin is pretty good with a special parking rate. But 4 star hotels under $100 a night can be found and googling "best chicago parking" will show you some options.

To answer your question, The Ram is thought to be pretty good right near the arena.

Oh, I heard from campus that NOW is the best time to register especially if you want to order your game tickets in a Xavier section. Although, there should be plenty of tickets available later too. I've heard Sec 113 and 111.

A couple of us '08 grads have made arrangements to rent out the "Demon Deck" at AllState Arena for the game. We've already distributed our allotment of twenty tickets. However, there might also be a bus put together to take this group of animals from Merkle's in Wrigleyville up to AllState Arena. I won't be a part of the bus shenanigans but there might be extra space available. As information becomes readily available, I will update in this thread.

I hope to meet some of you crazy kids at the game! I'll be the only Puerto Rican in a Xavier hoodie. Come find me and I'll buy you a drink (i'm like a latino leprechaun or something).

What in the world is the Demon Deck?

If it's what I think it is... it might be the perfect solution for that awkward space behind the student section where the Cafeteria used to be and could incorporate that "walkway".

The Blue Demon Party Deck at Allstate Arena - $500
Enjoy your own private area at Allstate Arena above section 105 by reserving the Blue Demon Party Deck for your next social gathering. Your guests can relax and mingle on the spacious party deck while watching some of the best in NCAA men's basketball. The party deck package also includes 20 game tickets and four parking passes. Catering services are also available on the party deck for an additional charge.

Comes out to $25 per ticket in a reserved area. Cheaper than lower bowl seats and parking passes if you're inclined to drive. We just did it as an easy way to get 20 people in the same area without having to reserve an entire row or section.

I find it hilarious that DePaul sells it to opposing team's fans. It's actually kind of sad.

Is this the designated pre-game bar or just a suggestion?

I'm all for designating it.

Haven't seen an alternative.

OK, I'll be there with two teens.

2.5 miles to Allstate Arena.

Cheers!

I know some of the faithful are meeting at Merkle's. If you have time or are already in the city, Merkle's would be good for lunch prior to the game. If you are heading straight to Rosemont, then the Ram (as designated by Mel) should be good place to meet up.

We have 4 of us going and we will be going to the Ram before hand. I'm coming from work in Schaumburg so Merkles is logically out. Planning on getting there around 1.

See you at The Ram around 1:30pm. I will be the guy in a Xavier shirt with two Leprechaun-ish bodyguards.
