I'm not buying their percentages. 20 wins would only give a 21% chance of making the tournament? It should be the 60.1% chance given to 21 wins. And they still only have an 87.6% chance of a bid with 22 wins? Nope.

20-12 would be interesting. I would consider it a toss up, really. Depending on who the wins came against

If we go 8-9 the rest of the way, I seriously doubt we'll make the dance. I don't think we'd even be close at 20-12.

22 or more and were in........

It's all about winning the games you are supposed to win, plus grabbing a couple that you are not. If the Muskies do that, they are in....period.

For me 21-12 with and 8-9 close would be a disaster. Yet, it's possible given we haven't hit the BE road yet. AND that would include a first road loss in the BE tourney. No dancing IMO.
But rather than close 8-8 in conference (ignoring the BE tourney for a second), from what I've seen from this team I feel we could win out at home (7 wins) and beat 3 of the 4 bottom teams in conference on the road (3 more wins). A close of 10-6 making us 22-9 going into BE tourney should give us a decent seed to win one and then I have to believe we're safe. Trade a home loss for an unexpected road win, same place of course. But 8-8 for rest of regular season would demand a strong BE tourney closing, again IMO.

Xavier will be fine. I'm not going to go into how many wins needed, but right now they're listed as the 9th seed in the Bracket Project. There are only 35 of the usual 120 bracketologists reporting so far with a bracket though.

If anyone has ESPN insider you can read this article:
http://insider.espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/10251804/arizona-wildcats-top-jay-bilas-ranking-68-best-teams-college-basketball
It lists the top 68 teams in college basketball according to Jay Bilas and Xavier isn't one of them. sUCks is ranked 19th, Iowa 13th, and Dayton is ranked 33rd. It's the biggest crap rankings I've ever seen in my life.

What's the website for the Bracket Project?
EDIT: Nevermind...found it.

I heard that we aren't going to win any games on the road.

There is good reason that the line formed to bite me, is headed by, and named for, Jay Bilas.

Just keep winning. Winning takes care of pretty much everything.

If it means anything to you, Lunardi now has Xavier as an 8 seed in his bracket.
He also has
2 Villanova
6 Iowa
6 Creighton
6 Cincinnati
9 Tennessee
10 Georgetown
Butler: 5th-8th team out

Wow...the regional sites suck this year....no Indy, no Columbus, no Lexington, no Nashville, o Chicago?

Strikes me that this year more than ever it's a good idea to get off that 8-9 line. The drop-off after Arizona, Syracuse, and MSU/Wisconsin is, in my opinion, precipitous.

I've always thought that I'd rather be an 11 than an 8/9. If you're an 11 at large, you've beaten a 6 seed or two, and your second round game is against a 3 instead of a 1 or 2.

Completely agree...hardly any difference between at-large 7-12 seeds.
