Saturday, thanks to MOR, I had the chance to watch in Cintas Center, Xavier's stunning, 79-68, victory over the Butler Bulldogs. It was for many reasons, only my second visit to Cintas for a game. I had a chance to watch a game which featured a defensive effort worthy of comparison to Franny Stahl, Stanley Burrell, or Dante Jackson. The job done by Dee Davis on Butler's superstar, wierd shooting deadeye 6-6 guard Kellun Dunham was worthy of comparison to those Xavier greats and reminiscent of the job Stan Kimbrough did on Missouri's Derrick Chevious to give the Muskies their first ever NCAA tournament victory. Dee was devious, deliberate, destructive and devastating in holding Dunham to 11 points, 2 in the second half.
But the 6-0 Muskie guard not only glued himself to Dunham, he opened the second half with a pair of treys that had the entire Butler team saying HUH!!!!!
Sorry, but chance to wax bit on the Muskies has been on my bucket list for quite a while.
Not only did MOR provide the entry permission but the Magic Ford carpet to what for two plus hours was a promised land and a chance to renew acquaintences with Muskieman and put faces on Frambo, Xeus, Nuts for XU, Bob from Finneytown and other wonderful Musketeerrs' fans, whom if I have forgotten your names, please hold me excused until you have new brickbats to hurl for me to duck
Saturday, Jan. 4 was a day I'll never forget and a victory I'll continue to cherish among the best I've seen. Oh, and by the way, Big Stainbrook, Isaiah, Samaj, James the Smooth, Justin the tough and Myles the soon to be Magnificent will also stand out in my Memory CD. But never forget, 76-53, 64-47. Go Muskies.

Q, I didn't get to the game yesterday. Gave my tickets to my son. Sorry I missed a chance to meet you. Knowing MOR as I do, he certainly was a good and gracious host for the day. Glad X put up a big W for you. Had to bring back memories of all those games you covered during your stellar career. Stay healthy my friend. Hopefully we will have a chance to meet one day soon.

It was great to meet you on Saturday, Q. Glad you enjoyed the game. Loved the story about the old Xavier bar that you got turned around from their despicable ways. Shows what a good man you are.
