Here is the link to an excellent bit of writing by Gregg Doyle of CBS Sports. Skip was the certainly one of the finest men to coach at Xavier, and I miss him. Here is the link: http://www.cbssports.com/general/writer/gregg-doyel/24387752/theres-more-about-the-man-behind-the-skip-prosser-classic. Say what you will about his coaching prowess, but there is no argument about the man.

I wish X could find a unique way to honor Skip. Im sure they maybe have done some things behind the scenes. Im thinking big though. A statue, a plauqe in the Cintas. Naminig the court? Hanging a jersey in the rafters? He was a great man and everything that Xavier embodies. We should do something to honor the man.

They should give out books (or a gift card/voucher to somewhere for a free book) to every kid who comes to the Cintas that day.

Skip was a great man. I've always said that two of the best things to ever happen to the Xavier program were him coming here when we needed him to replace Pete in '94 and him leaving when he could take the program no further in '01.

Well, he's in the Hall of Fame, and he was a great man and always nice to talk to. Great to his players too. Maybe a jersey, but nothing more than that, if that.
That being said, on balance, he won 1 NCAA game at X in 6 years. Maybe name a endowed Scholarship after him?

They should name the Joseph Club as the Skip Prosser Club. He liked his Guinness but never more than 2 at a time in public.

Totally disagree. Skip had a huge effect on this school, his players and everyone around him. You simply cant break it down to W's and L's. It's more about what he stood for, how he conducted himself and the impact he had almost everyone he came into contact with. I hope when I leave this earth, people will talk about the type of person I was and what kind of impact I had on their lives....and not whether or not I won more games, or was successful professionally......

While other coaches had more success, and while other coaches IMO are better technical basketball coaches, no coach has made me prouder to be an X grad than Skip. IMO, our school has had no greater representative.

I think it important to recognize that had Skip not elected to sit a few players against Iverson's Hoyas, the X-men win that game and perhaps a few more. Instead, he took the high road and chose to honor who he is and what Xavier is about and it is still one of the finer moments in Xavier basketball history. (IMHO)

Agree. I just don't know what else you can do in his memory, however.
