Breaks 200 MPH barrier. This what I would call a proper street car.

I worked on the project, GM went all out and spared no expense on this (mechanically). The thought and effort GM put into this car is unlike anything they've done. They want to play with the big boys.

Anyone find it interesting that this was sponsored by alcohol?

My dad ran up to Jeff Wyler Chevy a month or so ago just to see if they had one on the lot. The only one they actually had apparently was Jeff Wylers personal car. He said it was pretty awesome. The sales guy then said that every single 2014 slated to be produced has already been purchased so unless you have already purchased one, good luck getting one. In the 20 or so minutes that my dad was there talking to the salesman 3 other guys came in just to see the car. That's a bad, bad car.

I'm pretty sure Hennessey is the name of a performance engineering company

Hennessey does performance upgrades after the car comes out of the factory, and is simply the owners name. Hennessy, the cognac company, is not a sponsor and has no association.

If you believe what I read on the internet, the car will do about 180 mph out of the factory. Takes quite a bit of work to get that additional 20 mph, just to overcome simple wind resistance.

Looks like BandAid beat me to it.

How many of these can you buy for $120 million?

Don't know, but I'd guess about 1,000.

I don't get the attraction (anymore) of wanting to be able to go an additional 20 mph over 180. I guess if I was 25 years younger. Definitely a bad ass car though.

I've driven it. The Significant Other is a senior analyst for Edmunds, and recently had a canary yellow version for a week. Incredible "cockpit" driver position, super styling. With the low profile tires the sight lines are really low, and I'm not sure how anyone over 5-10 or 180 lbs could shoehorn into this baby, but it was an awesome drive.

I know I'm piling it on, but during our trip to Italy we got a tour of the Maserati plant in Modena and the two day loan of a grandtoursimo convertible. Tooling the autostrade at 180 klicks(kph, not mph) was the highlight of a long driving life for a guy from the Motor City.
