Has anyone been able to find what channel the game is on Saturday? I have Time Warner and I haven't been able to locate the channel Xavier is on.

It's only on ESPN3. You can access it with the Watch ESPN app or on ESPN's website. The game is probably going to be on firstrowsports but with the amount of ads on there it should be a last option.

What's the deal with TV and X this year? Shouldn't it be on FOXSports1? Isn't that part of being in the Big East? I mean come on. We got a game put on FoxSports2 which no one has, and now ESPN 3? This TV deal seems pretty weak.

This game is AT Alabama. It's part of the SEC's TV deal and has nothing to do with Xavier or the Big East.

And I have FoxSports2. Anyone out of town that has FS Ohio also has FS2, so it's no worse from a national perspective.

So the SEC's TV deal doesn't provide any major channels? Do you know any details on their usual coverage channels?

It's an ESPN deal. And ESPN has decided to put this one on ESPN3.

Generally speaking it's a public service to keep SEC basketball off the public airwaves.

I'd rather it be on ESPN 3 that FSN Ohio. That TV deal is way better than what they had a decade ago.

If it's going to be on DirecTV, is there anywhere in the Louisville area that people can recommend that it is pretty reliable about (1) having the correct channels and (2) actually putting Xavier games on? Louisville plays FIU at 6:00, so it will probably be difficult to get most establishments to devote a TV to anything but the Cardinals.

Other than UK and Florida, most SEC schools are only somewhat aware that basketball exists as a sport.

It appears that it's on Channel 696 on Direct Tv. It's Comcast NBA channel & the guide says XU vs. Alabama.

I believe it is part of the Sports Pack.....guess I am not cancelling that subscription this week.

For anyone living outside of Cincy, DirecTV is awesome. I live in east bumblef#*k NY, and am able to see 99.9% of the X games. Plus, the RedZone for NFL has completely changed the way I watch football on Sunday.

We go through this every year, and the well informed always try to tell everyone just to switch to DTV...no reason to complain if you don't. They offer 99.9% of the games, and you can negotiate a great monthly rate that makes them the best cable provider out there, without question.

Nice. It's pretty simple. The Chromecast and PC just have to be connected to the same network. When you click the game to watch on ESPN3, it will open a new window without a Chromecast icon. There is, however, a URL at the top of that window. Just copy and paste that URL into the main browser and click the Chromecast button on the top.

Here is the listing when I am logged into my Directv account from their iphone app. It shows the game as being blacked out.

Here is the message when I log into my Directv account from the web. It shows the game as being unavailable. Not sure if this might be different by location. When it's game time, it not be an issue at all. Luckily, if it is, I have family with uverse and will be using their info to use the Watch ESPN app.

I'm outside of Ohio and I checked my DirecTv guide and it tells me that the game is blacked on when looking at channel 696.

Here is the problem.

CSS, in my opinion, is the most evil and irritating thing on the planet. Almost no one gets it. It is owned by Comcast, yet Comcast does not make it available to their own customers accept in the South. DirecTV does not carry it. No other major providers carry it other than Comcast, who only selectively carries it.

On top of that, CSS does more hoarding than sharing. I don't know if this is an attempt to increase their distribution by angering people who do not get it, or what, but they do it. They routinely black the games out in markets where one of the teams are playing. This also means blacking it out on ESPN 3. There is a very good chance the game will not be available in Cincinnati.

They don't do this all of the time, but they do it a lot of the time. So, if you have DirecTV and don't live in Cincinnati, you should be set. If they decide to not black it out in Cincy, you're obviously fine as well. They have a tendency to black it out, though. In fact, more often than not, they do black it out.

I can't stand CSS. I really can't. Pac Twelve Network is annoying, but it makes some level of sense, and if you really want it, you can go to a provider that carries it. With CSS, the company that owns the network doesn't even make it available to their own customers in a lot of cases. It's beyond stupid.

I am just a few miles south of dayton and it is not available on DTV.

I don't see espn3 in any of the package listings and the comcast listings are only in the very top tier packaging.

So, I MIGHT be able to for about a $75 upgrade - but even that is not real clear.

Yes they are! Along with 2 other college basketball games earlier in the day. I'd say this is pretty legit. Shannon also noted that it was to be on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area too.

Unless you live in the local area of the channel it's being shown on (i.e. Bay Area for CSN BA), games are usually blacked out if part of the ESPN Full Court package, which this game is. They want you to buy the package.

I believe there is a way you can make ESPN3 work with chromecast:

When the popbox comes up with the game, copy the address from the pop up box address bar. Close the popup box and paste that address in Chrome's address bar. So now instead of having the ESPN3 broadcast in a popup box it will be in the Chrome browser then you can chromecast it.

I already gave me all the credit. The credit was gone. You can't give you the credit after I already gave it all to me. All. Not "I give me most of the credit and leave some around for MOR". Sheesh.
