Anyone have a report tonight? 55krc erroneously posted "Simply Money" instead of this week's show on their podcasts ... although that might be appropriate cause X's shooting was SIMPLY MONEY on Saturday.

It started late online. He talked about not fouling during the last last couple of minutes of Evansville, the practices before the shootout (i mean classic) and how he was nervous from the practices, and how Alabama plays a style that is close to UC's.

Those idiots at 55krc are like a parody of a radio station. This has been a recurring issue. How difficult is it to record a radio show and upload the file?

I sent them an e-mail.. that will probably fall on deaf ears, asking them to explain their incompetence. First of all, they lost the feed from the crosstown classic on last Saturday and played commercials for about 10 minutes until it was fixed. Then it happened again late in the game and Byron and Joe were forced to call into the radio station and do the play by play by passing a cell phone between the two of them. Then last night on the coach's show, it was dead air until nearly 7:15... both on the radio and on their web site. I listened half heartedly as I figured I was going to download the podcast, only to find two morons talking about money for the entire hour. Absolutely pathetic. This seems to happen more often than not after "bigger wins" and especially after wins over UC.

Email Response from 55KRC:

Subject: RE: 55KRC podcast problem

I'm working on fixing that now. Should be good to go by 11:00am.

Yep... it really happened... 55KRC lost the feed twice during the Crosstown. I gave up on the TV announcers and the radio was only a second or two ahead of the radio... so we opted for the radio, until it went to silence and then to commercials for 10 minutes.
FYI the podcast is up now on 55krc.com It's still missing the first couple of minutes. The run time is just over 30 minutes and a usual coach's show is about 38 minutes (subtracting out for commercials and the news at the top and bottom of the hour. Better than nothing. Thanks to them for getting it corrected.

Mack had a great little anecdote at the end where it was under 3 mins left after a time out and he looked around and only Jeremey Growe was there and he said to him "I don't know that I've ever felt better in my life"

It is up now. I love hearing Mack say that James Farr leads practices in rebounding every week.

Which is really saying something when you realize that Stainbrook is statistically one of the better rebounders in the country (top 50 defensively, top 100 offensively).

Holy hell. I didn't know that happened. Wow, pathetic.

I and others on MusketeerMadness contacted 55KRC multiple times last year to fix their horrible handling of recording and posting the shows. It seemed to be ironed out for the most part during the first few weeks this year.

I read this and have to honestly say that I am not surprised. This is a recurring theme with 700WLW and 55KRC. Their broadcasting of Xavier games is so incredibly poor. Byron and Joe do a fantastic job but the people behind the scenes that put the show together are absolutely terrible. This kind of thing happens at least once per game no matter where the game is played. I never hear this happen with uc games. I complained years ago and their response was that b/c XU played in sub standard arenas that the feed coming out of these arenas is sketchy and that's why they cut out all the time. They said uc plays in better arenas that are better equiped for broadcasts and that's why they rarely ever have problems. I'd accept this explanation if IT WERE ACTUALLY TRUE. I didn't hear any complaints about uc's feed being cut out on Saturday but XU's did and they played in the same arena, at the same time. So clearly 55krc/clear channel dropped the ball......again.

James Farr has an awful lot a David West in his game. Not exactly West, but similar. Very active on both boards, great help shot blocker, great feet and hands. James can shoot from a bit further out.

West was foreced to play Center due to the roster (Reggie Butler starting at the 5?), but he was more natually a 4. Farr could play 5 if necessary, but thankfully he works great as a stretch 4.

I'd like a whole lot more of James Farr and Myles Davis. I could see these guys playing starters minutes at the 4 & 3 respectively by the end of the year.

If Farr wasn't a foul machine, I have to believe he would be starting now. It's the only reason I can come up with why Philmore is currently starting over him. If Farr isn't in foul trouble, he should be on the floor. He's the 2nd best player on the team.

I would be interested in seeing a fouls/min. stat. I don't doubt what you are saying about the fouls, it just seems like he's not the only one and I wonder how he actually compares.

It's crazy to hear people say those words. Not saying they are right or wrong, but to hear (or read) someone make that argument.

I get how people can question this or want to see stats on the fouls (which are obviously a serious issue) but I am shocked that I believe you are correct. I never saw it coming, and it could change at any time, but it's hard to argue with production. The foul problem will hopefully improve as he gets more minutes and acclimated.

I calculated his points and rebounds per minute a few games ago and it was ridiculous!

Maybe I'm watching a different game, but I think James has the worst feet I've ever seen.

Per KenPom, he is at 6.3 Fouls Committed per 40 minutes. Not good. Although it is better than Jalen's 8.3. Also for comparison Stainbrooks is 4.2 and Philmore's is 5.3. All of which would be nice to lower at least a little bit.

His OReb% is at 16.9% and his DReb% is at 27.6%. Those are pretty insane. He also has an ORating of 135.2. Extremely insane (next highest on the team is Myles at 118.7).

Obviously this is all smaller sample sizes and he hasn't even played enough minutes for those stats to qualify for national rankings on KenPom but still awesome to see those numbers after what his expectations were.
