With only two non-conf games left until the start of our first year in the Big East, I can't help peeking ahead to the conference schedule. That being said, how many wins do you think X will have in our inaugural season?

I'll have to see a road game before I can decide that.

So far the responses are leaning towards an above .500 conference record. I wonder if this would have been different if I posted the same question before the Shootout.

Other than 10-0 Nova, every team in the conference has 6 to 8 wins and 2 to 4 losses. Pretty crazy.

If I had to guess, I'd say 10 or 11 wins. I think that this team will be slightly over .500 in conference, but not too far above it, which should be enough to get them in the tournament.

Agreed, I think we will have around 10-12 wins, nothing over whelming, we will definitely protect Cintas, I'm a little worried about away games, but hell, that's what they are played for!

The team will continue to improve both at home and on the road. As coaches and players figure out their roles and get used to playing together, there will be a good deal more consistency.
Cramping will become less of an issue when Coach puts midol in their water bottles.

I voted with my heart, not my head. We will go undefeated in the conference! I BELIEVE!

Hasn't anyone noticed that cramping stopped after they left the hot, humid climate of the Bahamas? Didn't really surprise me, considering for how long it was under control last season and the beginning of ths season.

When's the last time we were under .500 in conference? Was it during the Carter administration? We managed to eek out a .500 record in our first year in the A-10. I think we'll manage to do the same this year.

As the unofficial keeper of the conference W/L statistics, the last time that Xavier had a losing conference record was the 1981-1982 season when our beloved Musketeers finished 1-11 in the MCC. Since then, X has not had a less than .500 conference record. Ironically, this was the year before I started going to the games as a kid. I have no idea what it feels like to have a losing record in conference or what it feels like to lose to UD in Cincinnati. Two things I would like to never experience.

No other team has finished .500 or better in conference over the last 31 consecutive seasons. Not Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Duke, Syracuse, Gonzaga, Memphis, North Carolina, NONE OF THE CATHOLIC 7, not any team EXCEPT our Xavier University Musketeers.
A tradition of winning second to none.
Simply amazing really.

Great work! One correction however, the record for 2010-2011 should be 15-1.

And only three of those were even .500. Over a 31 year period that is a flagshiplike 331-120
I say 9 or 10 wins. We will lose a couple of home games, but win a couple of road games. Creighton and Villanova, both in the 'tas and away will be tough. And we always have trouble with Butler.

I'm with you. Although I voted in the next category down, when it comes to picking the score each game - I can never seem to get myself to actually put the Musketeers on the losing end against a particular team (only one of the reasons I don't do particularly well in that event overall - although I did get the Evansville game).
This way seems safer…and I hope I'm wrong and you are right.
