Fans need only to show up at U.S. Bank Arena for Saturday's Skyline Chili Crosstown Classic men's basketball showdown between Xavier and Cincinnati, but hosting the neutral-site game is no small undertaking for the home team.

Xavier and UC split profits of $478,176. After making the Freedom Center donation, each school netted $214,088.
Well, that's interesting. So in 2 years X will make $400K. I wonder how that stacks up against one year at home/ one year away.

One thing highlighted in the article was the $8,800 paid by Xavier for the referees for this game; they'd better have an experienced crew for this one and not 3 guys unfamiliar with the Shootout's history.
To Paul's point, I wonder what Xavier and UC have netted in Shootouts past when they were the host school and didn't worry about splitting the gate 50-50.
