The Xavier men’s soccer team, in its first season in the BIG EAST Conference, went 6-3 in league play, secured the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament and on Thursday night received the program’s first BIG EAST postseason honors, highlighted by senior Nick Hagglund (http://www.goxavier.com/sports/m-soccer/mtt/nick_hagglund_650205.html) (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West) winning Defensive Player of the Year honors, senior Matt Walker (http://www.goxavier.com/sports/m-soccer/mtt/matt_walker_650305.html) (Batavia, Ohio/Batavia) earning a second team All-BIG EAST selection and freshman Jalen Brown (http://www.goxavier.com/sports/m-soccer/mtt/jalen_brown_854970.html) (Indianapolis, Ind./Brebuf Jesuit) taking a spot on the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team.
