Xavier women beat Michigan 79-75 in overtime. Michigan is also a young team but this is HUGE win for the confidence of this young team! Super excited for them. Huge game from our seniors today!

I was starting to fear the worse for this season, and then they pull out a huge win against a good Big Ten program. This was an awesome win. I missed the first half and could only listen to the rest through the Michigan feed, but I think they've figured out pretty early they are going to live and die by the 3. They only shot 27%, but that was 11-for-40. Unlike the men, they were also 18-20 from the line (started 16-16). I think relying on the 3 may lead to a bad loss or two, but ultimately is the way this team is going to have the most success. A good sign from Neal early.

In summary, I'm fired up by this win. I can't wait for the home opener on Sunday now.

Huge win, looking at stats they really did everything right. While MU out shot them 48 to 36% from the field, XU hit key 3's and hit the free throws 18-20 to overcome that shortfall.
limited turnovers, and almost even in rebounding against a much taller more experienced team.
Hawkes, 27 points, 6 boards and 5 assists, a massive game from a real star!
