Sorry guys, I haven't been around this forum quite some time, but I always used to enjoy coming here as well as reading all the great stuff over at danaandvictory.com. I know they do a podcast, but is that it now? I know I missed things somewhere along the line, so sorry in advance, but whatever happened to the site?
Also, what other Xavier blogs are out there to read? I know there is Banners on the Parkway and can go to cincy.com here and there and I do, but are there any others? I never can really get enough opinions and content. Thanks and Go X!

Based on what I read today, doesn't look like Banners on the Parkway will be around much longer.

Lol wow. Honestly, it's a good thing I don't have computer access at either of my jobs.

Between getting married, moving, and job hunting, my blog has fallen into disrepair these past few months, for which I apologize. Hopefully, I can get that going again soon.
EDIT: "From Staak to Mack," if you didn't know or if the signature line wasn't a very good clue lol

I hope you get back into it. You're a good writer. I wouldn't mind doing some writing myself, provided I can manage the free time, since Xavier joined the Big East, now that I can actually watch pretty much every game. I've done writing online for quite some time regarding football and baseball, but I love Xavier and would be nice to cover a team I love. Maybe someday that'll materialize.

Banners has multiple writers for their blog, I think. At least one of their "gangsta" writers is now on double secret probation.

Spending work time on Xavier-related blogs and messageboards? Who would do that?

You should have waited and posted this from work on Monday.

I wrote the site for three seasons (with some help from some folks I met through this board). When I started I was single and unemployed and had tons of spare time to stare at statistics and scour the Internet for all kinds of silliness. As time went on, I got married, got a job, and had less spare time, but still tried to keep the level of quality high (I usually wrote posts on my laptop during lunch). In early 2012 I had some extremely bad family-related news that pretty well destroyed my enthusiasm for doing much of anything. With the help of the other dudes, we finished up the season and then I let the registration for the site lapse. I'm not much for half-assing and because I couldn't do the site well, I stopped doing the site. I miss writing but I don't have time for it any more. It was, on the other hand, very cool to see an audience emerge. By the time the site went down we were getting well over a thousand hits a day. That's pretty incredible given the size of the XU fanbase, I think.
On the plus side I got the opportunity to meet and become friends with Rick Broering, the scout.com Xavier editor. Just screwing around we recorded a podcast before the Baylor Sweet 16 game that got a nice response. That summer at a ballgame we came up with the idea of doing a podcast through the site and it's really exploded. We get unbelievable guests and access -- we've had Coach Mack, two of the three assistants, Mario, Shannon Russell, Byron, Andy Mac, a lot of the Scout.com national guys, etc. The last I talked to Rick he was talking about just making the podcast free to everyone and encourage folks who like it to subscribe to the Scout service.
Now you know...the rest of the story.

The whole "getting-married" thing really screwed up my blogging time. "Honey, I don't think this is going to work out."

Love all the stuff from all those sites! D&V, Banners, & Staak to Mack have all been great reading.
I do a blog site myself ( www.XavierBasketball.com ) but have run into the same things in life of late. Busy with new job, family, etc. I used to make longer posts but haven't been able to put much time in lately. I usually try to just post something quick when there's big news regarding the team and at least once before and/or after each game. It was somewhat serious in the beginning with jabs added in...now I tend to post most everything on the lighter-hearted side with the occasional serious comments. I'm trying to keep up with it as I enjoy it when I do get time...thanks all who have visited!
