So apparently this year, we can upgrade our seats once we get to the game. Its an app you can get on your phone and when you access it supposedly a new ticket is issue to your device that you can show to the ushers. I wonder how much that will cost? I mean to upgrade once you are there. I would think it would be cheaper than say if you first buy a ticket out right.

I would think they just charge you the difference. Any link to where I can get that app?

Here's (http://www.goxavier.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/103013aah.html) the story on goxavier.com. I'm sure you can get the app from iTunes or Play Store.

So what's to stop someone from checking the open seats and just moving down and sitting in them?

People do this all the time...why pay for it?

What would be really cool is if the owner of the seat could sell their tickets during the game. So let's say you have seats behind the bench and you have to leave or if you just want to sit somewhere else. You put your tickets up for a mini auction or seat swap. If the game is sold out I am not sure how Xavier would have any tickets for us to upgrade.

Your right people do just move down. However for the honest folks who hate being kicked out of their pseudo seat this is a great way to upgrade legally :jawdrop2: my question is will this only apply to non sellout games?

Okay I just downloaded the app. If you're a season ticket holder you can put in your ticket number and it will allow you to sell your tickets. This app is going to be awesome! They have a demo on there so you can see how it works. From reading the reviews one guy was a NBA game and upgraded to 2 rows behind the bench for $150 for two tickets. Normal price was $560.

We have ushers that check tickets? When did that start?

Idea is solid. If you are going to a game and need to impress somebody, or just for the fun of it want to get a taste of sitting close just once (say the visiting team has special appeal for you) perhaps this will allow that legally and usnder what a ticket broker would charge for prime seats.

Kind of irrelevant, but I was sitting one time around where the players parents sit, and someone was sitting in Burrell's dad seat. He said to the guy, "Hey man you are in my seat." He followed this by saying, "Aw hell I do not care I'll just find another." Really funny guy, but stopped going to games after his sophomore year.

Sorry for this being my first post ( I have been reading Xavier hoops for years behind the scenes) but thought this would finally be a good time to start posting to help answer some questions on this thread. I am a Xavier season ticket holder and assisted with bringing the lets move down app to Xavier this season. Though it may seem biased, it is a great app that I think you will all enjoy this year. They piloted it last year with University of Maryland and the Memphis Grizzlies and their fans loved it. OTR Muskie summed up the app very well, thanks for researching up on it and if anyone has any additional questions/comments please let me know. Also, for the first two games myself and someone from the Xavier ticket office will be at a booth inside Cintas answering questions and demoing the product so please stop by, we would love to answer any questions you have there as well.

And again...what's to stop someone from just moving down to an open seat? I've never seen ushers checking tickets to get to the lower level...are they going to start?

Nothing will stop them, until the person who bought the seats on the app show up. If they don't show up then you're golden

So what compensation or cut does the season ticket holder get? Do they get the price it ultimately sells for?

Yes this is one of the larger implications that ushers will begin to check more seriously. People will always be able to sneak down, no matter what venue they are at and sneak past the ushers, but as the upgrade market begins to grow in many different venues (even the Reds utilized a different seat upgrade app this year) the goal is that seats will be much more guarded. This ultimately creates a better fan experience for those who actually purchase the seats. So we will ultimately have to wait and see but especially for prime time games where there are not many seats open in the lower bowl, this app will definitely come in a lot more handy restricting who can and cannot take an open seat.

The season ticket holder is not actually able to sell their seat on the upgrade market yet this year. The app has the ability to do so but the only available seats to upgrade to on the app will be those that Xavier has in their inventory. The anticipation is that functionality will be open in the future. In that case the season ticket holder gets the price that the ticket sells for, which depends what time of the game the ticket is redeemed at, usually the earlier in the game the higher the price. Then there is a processing fee on the buyers end that goes to the app.

SO.....does this mean that I can go to the game, sell my seat once I get there, and then just watch the game by walking around or standing somewhere?

Just the thing for the SRO crowd that likes to hang out behind section 208.

What am I missing. The face for today's game is $19 in my section. I just logged on to the app and can pay $30 a piece to sit two seats in front of my current seats.

Positives so far - the color guard outfits.

And the stat panels are back on the sides. And a Semaj TREY.

Muskie how about this. You can pay $18 to upgrade from your sweet seats to up in 208!!

If that $18 is in addition to the admission you already paid, that app SUCKS. yes that's a technical term.

Those upgrades a row in front of you are down to $21 with 11 minutes left in the game.

I think this app will be cool when the place is packed, and you are stuck in the upper deck.

Not if you have to pay the face value for the seat you use to get into the door and then pay above face to move down. I guess in limited circumstances it might be worth it.

So, I "won" a free upgrade at halftime on Twitter from our season seats in the upper level to 113 (next to the students). Coo l I guess. With the crowd being what it was it didn't mean much, other than my Dad and I knowing the seats we moved down to weren't just temporarily being vacated by somebody getting a beer or whatnot.

During the regular season when Cintas is packed I can see LMD as being a cool thing I guess. What I think is dumb is that you can't post your tickets on the app if you know you aren't going to use them. It would be a cool sort of ticket marketplace for just Xavier fans if that were the case. As it stands, I think it serves a very limited purpose.
