Missouri head coach Frank Haith has been suspended five games by the NCAA for violations that he committed while the head coach at Miami, according to multiple reports. Miami radio host Joe Rose broke the news.
The suspension is a statement, but it shouldn’t hurt Missouri too much. Their first five opponents? Southeastern Louisiaina, Southern Illinois, Hawai’i, Gardner-Webb and IUPUI. George Hill ain’t walking through that door.
________
That'll teach him. The only way to truly punish in this situation is make the coaches sit out conference games.

They're in the SEC. These first five opponents are actually better than most of their conference opponents.

Yep. Way to pour on the punishment.
The NCAA deserves its terrible reputation.

It certainly is a statement. It says that no matter how blatant you are in regards to cheating, chances are the NCAA is too stupid to do anything about it.

I'd say he should have just been suspended for the duration of whatever exempt tournament they're playing in (Las Vegas Invitational), but even the games in Vegas (Northwestern and Nevada-Reno) are duds. Just coaching the so-called tournament games in Missouri and being suspended for the games in Vegas probably would have been more suitable.

Perhaps the NCAA is more clever than we thought. They may feel it is more of a punishment to Missouri to NOT suspend Frank Haith.

Ultimately, this was just the undercard for the remaining sanctions for Miami and the whole Shapiro affair. Their football team will lose scholarships for a few seasons but won't have any further postseason ban beyond the 2 bowl games and the ACC Championship from last year in which they didn't play.

True but Randy Shannon didn't get suspended for any games. Crap has been surrounding Haith for awhile now.
