I'm fairly certain Jesus wouldn't go to Butler.
Yeah Xavier is well known for the high quality personal character of their recruits. Heck I 'll bet Jesus would love to have played with C.J. Anderson or Matt Stainbrook. Only the best for the Musketeers.......

Seriously, every program has someone who's kind of a dick in some way or another. Just because someone did something in the past, you can't view their personal growth or emotional development as an achievement, and tout that as a victory not just for the kid him or herself, but for the people who helped bring about that change? It's remarkable how only in college athletics, we can bash youn adults for a mistake they made two, three, four years ago and hold it over their head and the program's head who takes them.
Only the best for us? You're damn straight. Look at the other thread where Matt took time out of his own day to visit a Xavier fan who is sick ina hospital bed, only because it would make the guy and his family happy. If Matt is a thug, we should all be.

I'll agree getting kicked from Western isn't a major crime. It's not in the same category as the two former Xavier players currently in prison for murder. However, to label Stainbrook's repeated behavior a "mistake" is sort of ridiculous.

I pity a person who hasn't never made a mistake like you apparently have. However, I find it incredible that for a kid being ejected twice two years ago, he can't be forgiven in anyway. He was, I'm assuming, about 19 years old. You can't allow him personal growth over these years?
How long ago did those Xavier players play at X? Was the same administration and coaching staff here now? You're probably the one who said "HELL YES punish USC for what Pete Carrol did. Those kids who are there now deserve his punishment!"
Xavier also had the guy teach here who invented a life-saving technique that has saved thousands of lives...so where's our credit for that?

Hell, I'm going all PMI on this as if it were a Redskins thread (HTTR)...
We have a nursing program here. They help thousdans of people with their illnesses. Some of whom actually went to basketbal games. I know two priests who went to X as undergrads who are doing the Lord's work, but let's call them thugs because they went to the same school as Matt and supported the basketball team. I work with a couple of dozen high school kids on a yearly basis, teaching them a sport and all the while, trying to help instil in them lifelong lessons and habits that will benefit them in college and beyond. But Heavens to Betsy if I don't love Xavier basketball, and therefore, the kids I coach must be little hellians running around.
The fact is, a mistake is a mistake. They vary in size and in consequence. It's not ridiculous to to label him getting kicked out a mistake. Thats exactly what it was. To call Xavier thuggish when they brought him in and countless others in, to teach him basketball but also about personal growth, is actually what's ridiculous.
We're a Catholic university. It's what we do as Christians. If you can't wrap your tiny, naive little brain around that fact, then maybe you should attend Xavier as a student and learn. Grow up.

Are we really feeling the need to defend ourselves to some cowardly high school Butler fan over any of the players in our program? Come on guys. After we stroll into Stinkel Fieldhouse, lay our big swinging dicks on that shitty old floor, beat them senseless until the broken buzzer mercifully ends their embarrassment, and kick that piece of shit water fountain off that decaying wall, I still will not be apologizing to any of those losers for causing them to give up on life.

Butlerhoops.com has a thread that is 187 pages long on Blueitt. They want him badly. If they lose him to X they will be very upset with their recruiting. Also the kid that committed there yesterday has only a 30 page thread. I'd be very worried if I was a Butler fan. Stevens was the face of the program and he's gone. Fan support/facilities are not great there anyway and now the golden boy is gone.

Who's getting judgmental? You came on here with the judgements, kid. Nobody else. Mark Lyons is kind of a prick. Pretty good basketball player though. You won't see me apologizing for having good teams with him here anytime soon. Don't you have more important things to worry about, like finding a freshman walk on who can be Bulldogs' only ball handler this year? Or stealing another slogan and claiming it solely yours, like "The ____ Way?" Or maybe, just maybe, catching up to the 19th century in terms of working basketball facilities? If I were you, I'd go back to sweeping the grimy floor at Stinkle because you're embarrassing even for a Butler fan.

Ahhhh... I think everyone just shit their pants over Dez's name being mentioned.
You're bringing up new arguements without addressing the past ones. You're trying to change the subject here. It's a piss poor attempt to hide the fact that you're just throwing your own shit on a wall and hoping it sticks. It's not a work of art, it's sad.
I actually avoided the whole Dez Wells situation to be honest. It was tiresome from the beginning and I didn't have the desire to read through the countless posts and pages on the threads dedicated to his stay. I'm sure I'll ask someone in the know for all the details that are out, but until then, life goes on. Dez is in a great place at Maryland and seems to be happy, and if thats the case, then so be it.
Mark Lyons (see how I'm addressing your comments with my own thoughts, with hopes of your well-thought, detailed rebuttals?), on the othe rhand, was asked to play a different position than what he cared to. He was frustrated with Mack and Mack was frustrated with him. Those things happen. People don't always see eye-to-eye and thats a fact of life that we all must contend with. Lyons left the program and went back to the coach that originally recruited him at Arizona.
If you want to bring up the brawl, while we're at it, we certainly can. I tend to be more hopeful than most, it appears. It was a black eye for both universities involved, but even the Duke/UNC brawl back in the day wasn't a perminant stain on either program, and I thus beleive will be the same with X and UC. While many noticed the punches thrown, I noticed the multitude of players and coaches who were trying to break up the fight. Who in the ehat of the moment did what they could to prevent further injury.
We then made the mistake of putting a couple of 21 year old kids (and make no mistake, thats what these college players are), in front of a national media after being swung at, and asking them their thoughts on the matter. Not ten minutes after this all happened, I'd venture a bet that their hearts were still racing, their thoughts swimming, and their mind not taking a second to stop and think of what was the right thing to say. It wasn't certainly not our best moment, and I don't think anyone on this board or associated with the university ever would argue that it was. Mark Lyons was involved, he was punished, and everyone moved on.
Now, I can't wait for you to take the time to give me your thoughts on the matter...Or should I go get some toilet paper for you?

And why is that? Because we were overloaded with 6'10 centers who could start for us? You clearly do not understand how college basketball works if you think that Xavier just hoards all the kids who have ever gotten in any kind of minor trouble. "Oh no! Matt Stainbrook got ejected from a college basketball game because he took out his frustration for playing on a terrible and dysfunctional team! And we had the nerve to make our team better by adding him! What a bunch of irreparable animals we are!" You do realize that high horse attitudes are usually reserved for hypocritical, excuse-making losers, right? Please, wise one, explain. Perhaps you think Stainbrook should have been imprisoned after the incident. I mean, really, there's no room in society for people like that. If a Butler player ever got ejected from a game, you'd have to imagine they'd shut down the basketball program. I mean the few thousand fans who show up to that dump love their basketball, don't get me wrong, but it's certainly not worth continuing if something that is so below the Butler Way (trademark, patent pending) were to occur. There is nothing more daytonesque than getting backed into a corner before realizing your only argument is to play the "class" card.
You probably won't be coming to Omaha, either, huh? You could have met my six year old who needs some indoctrination. I fear he's becoming a touch TOO friendly with the Wheat Shocker faithful.
I'll likely be in the house for Wake and the Red Storm over the holidays. I'll have a Mike's Hard Cranberry. Too bad they don't serve Zima.
I might be coming to Omaha actually, if you're still interested in borrowing my parenting skills for your six year old. "Indoctrination." That's rich. You do know what the word means, right? If anything, I'm an over-critical thinker to a fault, refusing to get sucked into the brainwashes that far too many around here are victims of.
I don't think we're quite ready for Zima yet, Go. Things can go from 0 to 60 too fast. Might need to stick to that fruity Cowboy curaçao drink that the little bells sip down there. Odd I seem to remember some sweet sixteen seasons before Stevens was promoted to head coach. You can of course argue a sweet sixteen isn't "great" but course you would sort be blasting your own program.

Not a bad get for Butler. Wasn't exactly one of our priorities but if you're going to miss Macura to a stronger program like you did, not a bad fall back plan. It should be fun for him to get his shots on a team of a bunch of 2 and 3 star grinder/underdog type. That shit was adorable before the dysfunctional clock struck midnight, but it's not something I'd count on carrying you through a big boy conference.

As a member of Scout, I looked up your prized recruit. He is a 3 star and not in the top 100, nor is he listed in the top 30 at his position. On top of that, he is 6'5" and listed as a power forward. Like I said, if that's your top recruit, we all know trouble is ahead for your program. I wish you luck.

Recent past...you mean when we split with you last year which included a 15 point ass kicking in one of Xavier's worst seasons while playing Butler's NCAA tournament team? Or perhaps the 12 point win in 2011 at Butler...no wait...the 12 point win in 2010 at Xavier.....I know, this is the point when you take me all the way back to 2009 when Butler escaped with a home cooked victory against the best team which will ever practice in Hinkle again. Unless that's of course Xavier practices there when they go to the final 4. We'll be sure to install a new drinking fountain at that point, and add one for Blue 5, or what ever the hell Bulldog you're up to. RIP Bitches....you know, assuming they are female.

Update - Hey, you figured it out! Good job little guy!
Updated odds of who lands him:
Xavier 1 in 2
Mich St 1 in 4
Mich 1 in 6
Purdue 1 in 12
Butler 1 in a Million - so you're saying there's a chance!
Okay, joking aside, I do think Butler would be appealing to him because he'd be an instant starter and get all the minutes he could ever want. At Xavier (or Mich, Mich St), he would not be getting 35 min/gm as a freshman. And he'd instantly be the star of the whole school.

Butler had four 4 star guys in the past 5 years and made it to back-to-back championship games. What's that say about your program? You guys might get better recruits but it's the W's that matter. Young man, coming from from UD, I suspect you don't have a clue what a 4 star recruit is. However, if you would read my previous post you would know that Martin is not. Scout is my source and to be a 4 star you have to be about a top 100 recruit (the last 4 star this year was ranked 112). Marshall was not a 4 star, but he was listed as the 38th best SF, which would possibly put him in the top 200. Matt Howard committed in 2006, which would mean he was not recruited in the last 5 years. See how easy this is?
But you got me on Dunham, who was a 4 star recruit, and who chose Butler over Ball State and Wright State. My point, which was lost on you, is that Butler doesn't have Stevens around anymore to coach these mediocre players "up". So perhaps Butler fans should take a "wait and see" attitude before coming on our board and talking $hit.
I do agree with you however that is the w's that matter, something that your program knows little about. I wish you and your program the best of luck and hope that some day, some how, you can once again win the Maui Classic.

I think its extremely amusing a UD fan is talking trash about NCAA wins and recruiting. Much less, hoping to get in a conference which Xavier will never vote for them to join...which may ultimately hold them back for ever.
E8's are cute? The funny thing is, Xavier is closer to a final 4...hell, a national championship than UD is to getting in the big east or even winning a NCAA tournament game. And fact is...you know it. Every UD fan knows it. After your nice "first four" contract is up, the closest you will get to the ncaa tournament is the deal you'll get from Matt Kavanaugh selling you direct tv. Seriously, go have scotch with your has been players, talk about the days without the 3 point shot and NCAA tournament wins, and suck on your bleak basketball future.

What hell hole are you talking about? Dayton isn't anywhere near as immaculate as Cincinnati is.
Also you bring up the winning record thing. Lets look at a few observations:
-Since 1980, the year the 3 point line was introduced (basketball is a completely different game than before), Xavier is 45-24
-Blackburn/McCafferty trophy series Xavier is 33-18
-The obvious fact that Dayton is 0-28 in Cincinnati since 1984

You are trying to perform a comedy act, here, right? The fact that you not only believe that ESPN is better and more legitimate than Scout, but actually think that it's common knowledge amongst everyone that that's the case, proves that you really are delusional enough to be a card-carrying dayton watermelon humper. Cincinnati may be no private island, but it kind of is compared to the orifice that is dayton. Again, dayton does not matter. You are below us. Your envy of us brought you here long after we forgot about you. Your burning hatred for us is matched by our remiss to even acknowledge you exist. As emasculating as it must be knowing what your program is in comparison to ours, you still chose to come here, for what exactly? Set the record straight, as you see it? At what point did the daytonesque delusion enter your head, that anyone here gives even the tiniest fraction of a fuck about what some lowly dayton fan has to opine? Go back to a dayton board where you can cry about not being Xavier to people who can actually empathize with your pathetic misery.

Yes, everyone! If anyone knows about a "wait and see approach" it's a dayton fan. What's the dayton yearly motto? "Just wait! You'll see! We're bad this year, but next year we'll be awesome." A motto that is applicable each and every season for the flyers. To be fair though, dayton often has to deal with sickly players who have the never-ending flu and who succumb to horrible bouts of jet lag, and coaches who aren't tall enough to ride the rides. It's just so sad for them.
Really, let's let this ud fan have his moment rubbing in whatever it is he's trying to rub in here. Life has been hard on him, and we should be kinder to the less fortunate in our community. He's a dayton fan for God's sake. I need not illuminate the reasons why his life is a black hole of red, white and blue warm up suits. Dayton losses are legendary. Go back to a dayton board where you can cry about not being Xavier to people who can actually empathize with your pathetic misery.A+ meltdown - this is why I come here. Thanks for not disappointing.

Being pathetic is what makes dayton dayton.
Ultimately what matters is that Xavier has moved on and we've rid ourselves of the woefulness that is dayton. Watching them continue to struggle in the A10 will be like seasons-long Christmas mornings!
Excellent thoughts. Just one small, minor thing. It is okay to not capitalize dayton even when it begins a sentence. It is one of the few times this is allowed.

1) you live with your parents. I guess maybe that's "The Butler Way" ?
2) you're old with a family and coming to someone else's messageboard to talk smack. Or is that "The Butler Way" ?

Got it.
Amazing. Of course we haven't seen that Butler tool since this post. Butler's head coach got his start under the evil, slimy, antichrist, Sean Miller, yet he's of course choir-boy-clean, just like every player who's ever played for Butler (none of whom have ever smoked weed or gotten in any trouble, of course.) The high horse thing NEVER works. You will ALWAYS be exposed for the hypocrite you are in the end. The other funny thing is that this all started in a thread about a recruit who both schools are going hard after. In this idiot's mind, if Blueitt commits to Xavier, he's a thug, but if he commits to Butler, he's a high quality individual even though he's black. This is the kind of shit you get from Butler fans. It's like the entire fan base is one big human centipede-type train of people, each with their head up the next one's ass. "We're so classy. We can totally justify not landing good recruits on a consistent basis because our kids are such great people. Chrishawn Hopkins is not really a Butler guy so he doesn't count. Xavier is better than us so they must recruit a bunch of thugs." These people ACTUALLY believe this. These people are allowed to vote once they turn 18 and move out of their parent's dungeons, and they're able to express opinions anonymously online. These losers are really out there, and we're going to be hearing from them more and more now, until several years of getting shat on by the Big East finally shuts them up. It's here, fellas.
And on top of all of it, we still have this dayton loser buzzing around here? Is this guy serious? He's pretty much hit every dayton stereotype on the head: delusional irrationality, living in the past, playing the "fan support" card even though anyone whose ever seen a game at the dump that Xavier wasn't playing in knows just how pedestrian an experience it is, etc. It makes me so happy inside to know that, long after dayton became completely futile to us, that at least one delusional loser who roots for that dead program still burns up inside over his jealousy and hatred for us. Based on the clear lack of maturity and competence of the poster, you'd have to imagine that the beginning of his pathetic life did not pre-date the Carter administration. Imagine hating a team that much, and taking that kind of abuse, year after year. And then having to live in dayton to boot. Seems to me like that's a life not worth living, quite frankly.
The common denominator between both of these nerds is that, regardless of what weak ass attempt at a comeback they muster up, you can rest assured that they really are furious inside. They know where they stand and it kills them. Their hatred of us eats at them, and causes them to search for our program's message board, sign in anonymously, and throw some little girl smack talk our way. That's what they do with their lives. Just imagine what it's like for them, year after year, when they watch us beat their respective teams, and they have to lash out by aggressively trying to convince themselves that all of their unfounded assumptions about us are true. Can you imagine how badly it must suck to be them?

I didn't time myself on that one, but I'm guessing it took me about 7-10 minutes or so. Believe it or not, some of us can come up with structured paragraphs without having to take a sick day to make enough time, especially when the content of said paragraphs is so easy to pour out.

Better that than the kind of diarrhea in the raw sewage that overflows into your "arena" . . .

It is amusing that this is the part of LM's post you had an issue with.

Butler just lost prized recruit Zach Johnson to Florida Gulf Coast. It's bad enough they're recruting against Florida Gulf Coast, but to lose a recruit to them?
P.S. I see that just about every small program in Florida was after him- Florida Atlantic, Florida International and Jacksonville (the college not the NFL team) also offered him.
And I can't believe a Dayton fan is on this board talking smack to us. I know their fans are delusional, but I didn't realize it was this bad. Gotta go, I think I'm going to head over to the Duke and UNC boards and give them some shit about their programs.

Their program is going to be mooching off of La Salle's NCAA credits for the next few years - don't feel too bad for them.

I'll try to type slow so you're able to comprehend!
I've been to UD "Arena" and I've been to actual arenas. While it's true, the basic definition of arena is fulfilled by that building in which you watch your team play (while it's difficult to describe dayton basketball as a sport, it can be entertaining in that pathetic, this is so sad it's funny sort of way!), I'd be hard pressed to refer to it on the same level as places like Rupp or Value City. UD "Arena" is the only venue I've ever visited that smelled like a bathroom that had never been cleaned. I'll grant you one thing - it's a one of a kind place (thank God!).

Here's a golden nugget from the past. I have thrown up on daytons "arena", nobody really noticed or cared.

How was Zach Johnson a prized recruit ? In fact Butler never spoke with Zach directly and merely gauged possible interest from his coach. They never even offered.

Everyone on this board thinks you're an asshole. So stop with the "I am in the know" BS.
So go back to UDPride, where you can sit around with the other delusional fans and fantasize about some day getting into the Big East or some day making the second round of the NCAA.
I mean, good lord, you're a UD fan trying to give XU fans crap. Don't you understand you need to have some credibilty first? So I also suggest you head over to the Bowling Green board. You can give them crap about all the recruits UD steals from them.

He's a Butler fan.
I'd be mad if I was a butler fan too. Kid is in their own backyard and has so little interest in Butler. Butlerhoops is pretty funny how upset they are when they think this kid is coming to X.
Get used to it Butler has nothing good going for them now. Going to be a very rough couple of years.

I stand corrected. I confused this idiot with the UD fan who came here in support of Butler. But you are correct- Butler's little program has no chance of getting this kid so now he sits around all day chanting, "Please don't go to Xavier. Anywhere but there."

So you're a Butler fan who came on today to tell us a recruit is choosing a different school....which isn't even yours. Wow, what purposeful life you lead. Couldn't you manage to type a few beats from the Michigan State Fight Song while you are at it? How lame.....
PS, try mopping the floor in Hinkle once in a while after sweeping it. That place is so sticky it took off all of the tread on my shoes. It might also help remedy the scent of burnt popcorn and dirty socks.

Jesus, you're racist.
Floorsweeper's thought process: "Parrom is black...he was shot...I won't bother to look up facts...his buddy is a gang banger...Parrom is probably a bad person too!"
No my thought process is innocent people who are shot usually don't make up stories misleading the police.
Sheeesh...................
You have resorted to race baiting twice in this thread. The only racist comment came from you when you labeled a quote "a white man's argument" or something to that effect.

Why are you here? People seem to have made it quite clear that they would prefer you leave. I'm just trying to understand what drives an individual to come to another team's message board and post 43 times in less than a month. Obviously not well developed social skills.
Nobody cares what rumors you have heard. There are millions of rumors flying around about where this kid is going to go, many of them far more credible than you. Just go back to the Butler board and bother them.

You are on a Xavier Basketball Message Board posting posting rumors, arguing about the words I use, and you are apparently a Butler Basketball fan....all day long...And you're telling me to grow up. It's so funny to me when Butler classifies Xavier as an inferior school, a thug program, and says Xavier fans think they are better than everyone else...and then we get examples like you. Obviously the difference between theory and reality. Grow up...that's funny son.
