And i believe the FS1 special is slated for 9PM, so I'm wondering how late Muskesteer Madness may start. (And I know its Muskie Madness, but it would be nice if they put the montage of the whip-around segment of the show on the scoreboard so we may see all our new conference mates)

That alone should bring a different tone to the event. I remember when it was still Midnight Madness at Schmidt Fieldhouse. I am trying to think, was it Skip or Thad that put a temporary hiatus to it. Thenit resurfaced as the Saturday afternoon event which has gone through a few format changes the last few years. (Like the year they tried to make it a celebration of all Xavier Athletics (but mostly basketball) - and scheduled it so that the basketball scrimmage game ended and it flowed right into a Volleyball match. ) Last year they went for the rock concert feel, setting up the big end zone stage lie they would for a concert.

If nothing else just DVR it.

I'm very excited for it this year. Last 3 years it has fallen during an ND home game and I've been out of town for it. But not this year!

That's fine - Butler invented Midnight Madness.

Butler fans remind me of a kid I knew in high school. He was the ultimate one-upper who claimed a connection to literally everything. If your great grandfather invented the wheel, his great grandfather invented your great grandfather. The idea that those idiots think they coined the phrase, "The ____ Way," goes to show you just how small time they are.

For what it's worth, the origin of having fans show up to the first practice as midnight strikes goes back to Lefty Driesell's Maryland Terrapins in the early or mid 70s. I believe it was Kansas or Kentucky that dubbed the term "Midnight Madness." So I guess Butler will have to find something else to poach, like they did with their super original team slogan, mascot, and tendency to be an Indiana team full of "heady" white boys.
