Among the new styles worn by college teams, I like this one the best. The fact that 'X' lends itself well to this style might have something to do with it.

Seriously, it's nice to see that Nike Elite contract starting to come through. I was getting peturbed that this contract wasn't producing too much. Wonder when they will hit the bookstore shelves.

Other schools have a more customized design that integrates school buildings or mascot. The net design is a little generic but like I said, I still like it.

It seems as though X is not on the same tier of "Nike elite" schools as, say, Kentucky, UNC and Duke. We don't get the one-of-a-kind, bespoke uniforms that they get. Instead, we seem to be on a second tier with schools like St. Louis and Creighton that get re-hashes of the unis originally made for the top tier teams. If this theory holds true, I would expect to see St. Louis and Creighton wearing the same design, minus the X logo, of course.

Though I wouldn't doubt we're not on the same scale of "Nike Elite" contract as UK and UNC, does any other team in the country have the same uniforms we do? I thought the fact that we have an elongated "X" down the side of our shorts was Exhibit A of the special status we have with Nike.

The shorts are unique, but if I'm not mistaken, all of the "tier 2" teams have unique shorts and share the same shirt design.

Who else is in Tier 2? Don't know that SLU and Creighton are, considering both have the same style of shorts.

I don't know anything for certain, it's just been an observation of mine that since we've signed the deal with Nike, we have shared the same uniform shirt design with about a dozen different schools and we seem to inherit said design from the basketball 1% about two or three years after they debut them.

We're the highest Nike tier they have for programs who haven't won a national title. St Louis is definitely not on the Nike elite level and I seriously doubt Creighton is either. Our unis were designed specifically for us. We have our own font with Nike along with our own uniquely designed shorts.

I know the jerseys themselves aren't necessarily unique, but I actually like them better than the customized ones. Some of them seem to have so much going on that I can't tell what the design actually is.
