Rotator cuff surgery today, and my left shoulder is pretty messed up. Looks like my golfing days are probably over. At least I finally broke 80 a couple of years ago; shot a 79 at Hickory Woods with a birdie on 18 to seal the deal.

My sympathy. Congrats on improving your game, but that is sad news. Hopefully your recovery is one for the ages and you can hack away once more.

A buddy of mine tore his up water skiing 7-8 years ago. Kremcheck told him he wouldn't be able to lift his arm over his head ever again. He has placed in state and qualified for regional ski tournament three times since then. He was 46 when it happened. Work hard in rehab and say some prayers, there is always hope.

I just learned that I am bone-on-bone in my left hip. Actually, I realized it from the pain, but simply needed a medical confirmation of it.

I'm shooting for a replacement next February. BIGDIGGINS is spot on: strong rehab and some prayers and perhaps we'll see each other out on the links at some point.

Strong rehab and yoga. There are some teachers trained in yoga therapy and they take extra anatomy classes and are quite good at help you build range of motion and strength. Might be worth looking into when your insurance company approved PT runs our ir you aren't happy where you are.

Thanks, guys. And if losing golf is the only bad outcome for me, I am blessed indeed.

I golf with a lot of guys that have overcome rotator cuff surgery. I play with a guy that is currently playing one handed while recovering from a more minor shoulder procedure. He's not scoring in the 80's, but he's still enjoying the game in a new way.

Just play with one arm...unless you're on the PGA Tour, golf is not, and should never be, about the score.
