I just checked out the women's roster for the first time in a couple of weeks. Both Ce'Dra Evans and Lakeisha Crouch have been removed. Evans, of course, can't play because of her heart problems. I don't know what happened to Crouch. She disappeared in the middle of last season because of "personal issues" and didn't come back, and her career is now apparently over. Anyone got the scoop here? I wish her well in the future.

Freshman Kayla Styles was originally on the roster but was removed a while ago. I assume that she decided not to join the team.

We have another freshman newcomer, Sydney Neal, who went to Mason HS.

That puts the roster at 11 players for the 2013-2014 season. The team was also going to try walk-ons this year. I have no idea if they have already done so. So far, no information on that front.

The team has only 3 players over 6'0, so there are going to be front line issues. It appears we are going to be very small once again. There are no front line players committed for 2015 yet either. This is a huge concern.

Can’t say I’m surprised by Crouch leaving, although she was still listed a few weeks ago, so I was hopeful that wouldn’t be the case.

With that, an already young team gets even younger- two seniors, three sophomores, and the rest are freshmen. I hope this group can play, because they are going to have to be thrown into the fire right away.

You're right. Kind of scary to think about, but I think they'll rise to the challenge.

A couple more notes:

The team now has a walk-on: Brianna Gladney, a 5'6" guard from San Antonio. That makes the roster 12 players, which is plenty for this season.

I was wrong about no post players for 2014-2015.. I forgot about Imani Partlow, who is a 6'1" forward.

The team had media day yesterday.. less than 2 months until the start of the season!
