Sounds like Andy will be doing this monthly. I enjoyed the first one.

Summary:
MacWilliams and Christopher discuss autograph signings, a priority points system for Xavier supporters, BIG EAST expansion and early impressions of the fall season among several other topics.

Christopher comments on UD: X has to do what is best for X (schedule is set for this year and next year, no UD this season or next). Past that it is tough to tell. This would apply to UC as well. Would ultimately like to have UD on schedule down the road.

First confirmation I've heard that X isn't playing UD next year either.

I was disappointed with how certain Christopher seemed about Big East expansion to 12 teams in the near future.

More than fine with 12. Saint Louis and VCU would be welcome additions.

Agreed. Expansion is the nature of the beast whether we like it or not. Why not add the best teams we can? I hate the idea of HAVING to remain all private schools at the expense of adding the best potential programs, should we expand. I understand the reality that Georgetown may very well work to block out VCU, like Nova did with Temple over the years, but in a perfect world, I want to create the most competitive conference possible. I realize that opens up the door for football down the line for certain schools and potentially an eventual departure, but that would be a long, long ways away. Why not create the best basketball conference possible with what's left of the outsiders looking in, within reason? I hate 20 team conferences too, and wish they'd stay at 10, but we probably can't have it that way, so why handicap ourselves?

Hate to say it, but Greg Christopher looks way too much like a certain Toucan beak who now resides in Columbus.

VCU will not be joining a conference composed of small private schools. Might as well hope for Kentucky if you expect VCU to join.
