So I see where Michael Davenport is to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. My question is, no slight to Michael, I know that he was a good player, but really was he good enough to be inducted into the Hall? Maybe I've forgotten or I've gotten jaded with the amount of talent that we've had, but I was just a little surprised.

Mostly agree here; not underestimating Davenport's defensive prowess, but he was rarely the best player on the floor for XU. His overall stats are a bit inflated b/c he logged plenty of minutes for 4 years on teams which lacked depth, the level of opponents, and his teammates drew much more attention.

A very good player for sure, but all time great is questionable.

Is Jamal Walker in the hall of fame? He was in the same class as Davenport and Colin Parker and I always thought he was better than Davenport.

MD was great for Xavier and I am happy for him to get this recognition. I think there are other players I would induct before him though.

Yes, Jamal was inducted in 2003.

The most recent grad inductee on the men's basketball side is DFW '03. We've seen 5 Sweet Sixteens (2 Elite Eights) with guys who graduated later. I'd say there are a lot of guys who will be joining from that timeframe over the next few years, and the Hammer would certainly be on the short list to be the second inductee from those years (Sato is a runaway #1).
