Any thoughts on the future of LAX at Xavier? I assume that this will be a sport the University attempts to cultivate as we begin the first year in the Big East? In Indiana, several of the suburban High Schools are building excellent programs. I assume the same is true in Cincinnati?

Will it still make you run?

I have seen the sport grow in popularity the past 5-10 years. I have a good friend that helps run the LAX programs in Anderson Twp, and I never would have though the sport would grow so fast. Some schools don't have enough interest for their own team, and those kids play on "club" teams. McNicholas plays on a team with Glen Este, Amelia, and other local schools.

Turpin and Anderson however, have their own programs and even have junior varsity levels with full teams.

I am not sure if the OHSAA recognizes it as a sport, or if it is still officially a "club" level program. But it is definitely gaining acceptance in the Ohio Valley area.

I read somewhere that there is an OHSAA sanctioned State tournament for lacrosse?

OHSAA does have it as a sanctioned sport. It's growing quite quickly and for a university it shouldn't take too much to run a men's and women's team. Naturally, I am absolutely in favor of Xavier building a team, but not until a few years from now, where I can take part in the movement should I have a chance to move down there.

I think you've used up all your eligibility.
