Not knowing what will happen with the Big East, I've been paying attention to how other leagues handle digital rights.

_____

The multi-year agreement will allow the league to live stream hundreds of athletic events, including a number of men’s basketball games. The partnership with Campus Insiders will also allow for digital features and on-demand video content.
All of the Patriot League content will be available through campusinsiders.com. The league already has a deal in place with CBS Sports to televise multiple sporting events from the conference including men’s basketball and football.

I don't know if the Big East knows what will happen with the Big East.

They're having trouble distributing Fox Sports 1 to the major providers, as I'm sure you've heard. I don't know how that impacts a potential digital network. Do we have an agreement in place with Fox that would limit how a digital network would be structured??

The Patriot League's games are all going to be free to anyone via campusinsider.com. I don't think Fox would be too keen on the Big East having an agreement like that after they just paid all this money so THEY could broadcast the games.

Maybe they could set it up to be free for any game that's not on Fox1. And then the ones that are on Fox1 either you can't watch online or you have to pay for.

I'm pretty sure FS1 controls digital/multimedia/new media (and whatever else they may be called) rights.

Distribution like what the Patriot League is doing is the last thing people should be hoping for.
