Mark Purdy was awful. Can't imagine his broadcasting career lasted very long.

Great video, though.

Those Xavier chicks were loaded out of their mind on qualudes or whatever substances they had back in 1980. I like how the Musketeer didn't even have a mascot head....his costume was just a cheap Musketeer suit that looks like his Great Aunt made for him.

ON-TV. Wow. I remember ON-TV. Good stuff.

So.....X won the first Crosstown Shootout and the Last Crosstown Shootout. I like it.

UC's uniforms are 70s-tastic - the bright red, the player name in cursive under the number. Pretty boss.

Great video. Wish there were more available from that period.

That was fun to watch. Thanks for sharing. I love vintage Xavier video.

Wow. Actually, Mark Purdy was a sportswriter, and later Sports Editor, for The Cincinnati Enquirer. He was not an electronic commentator. He now is a columnist for the San Jose Mercury News.

That being said his interview wasn't worthy of a radio station in No Trees, Kansas.

Sounded like the typical SucKS leaning hack who was flabbergasted that little Xavier could actually beat the Big Bad Borecats of Ed Badger....and it showed.

I'l bet The Great Q has some Mark Purdy opinions.

The first words spoken on the Big East Xavier video. Perfect.
