Some surprises tonight not involving draftees..

Schenider to NJ for the 9th Pick

Bolland to Toronto for a couple of picks this year and one next.

I did not see the Devils as a destination for Schnieder but what a great move by Lou L. Sets them up for a hopefully smooth transition from Brodeur to the next generation of devil goalies.

yeah. Way to energize the fan base as well. I'm sure Schneider will be compensated for one more year as a back up (I assume Marty will get his chance to go out as Starter) with a re-worked contract.

I also like the Bolland and Frolick trades as well as the Bickell extension for the Hawks. Time to move some of the younger guys up the lines and up from the minors in some cases.

definitely good moves by Chicago. I wish the caps would have done something to fix the 2C or 4D hole they have via a trade but quite to often GMGM's go to move is doing nothing at all.
