Our "Dollar and a Dream" young man - Marquis Cornish - Is Coming to X!

Good Evening Everyone,

I just wanted to give you all some great news! On Friday, I was notified that I received a scholarship of $5,000 from the Foster Care to Success Program.This puts the total amount fundraised over the $17,000 that I needed to attend Xavier University! Altogether, with the funds raised from the "A Dollar and A Dream Campaign (which amounted to approximately $10,000 after the Indiegogo website fees were taken out), the MACCS Children’s Fund Scholarship of $2500, and the Foster Care to Success Scholarship I just received of ($5,000) I am $500 over the amount I was trying to raise to attend Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio!!!! I would like to thank everyone who contributed, prayed, or spread the word for their selfless support throughout my campaign. This is only the beginning! Good for him! I fully expect a motivated young man like this to do well and graduate from college somewhere.

The thing I was never clear on, is how he plans to pay for the other 3 years of school? He raised enough money for one year, but there is no way $17,000 will cover anything beyond his freshman year.

I hope there is a plan in place. It is a great story, but it would suck if all this work was done for him to attend Xavier for just one year.
