Nice of the Big East to recognize the flagship in their logo. A-10 should have done this long ago.

I guess I don't understand the 'inaugural season' banner being as big if not bigger than the X or the Big East logo. For that matter, I'm not sure why it's included at all.

Probably nitpicking, but I think it would have looked a lot cleaner with just the X logo above the Big East logo.

Which makes no sense. If the idea is to tap into the former Big East's brand equity by keeping around the logo and name then calling attention to the 'inaugural season' kind of undermines that.

Just seems like mixed messages.

Agreed. Just let it be "Big East" and leave it at that. Why make a big deal about keeping the name but then brand yourself as a new conference? Unless X is pushing the "Inaugural Season" thing because it's our first year in the league. (Haven't really seen other new Big East stuff...maybe it's a conference thing - that would blow this idea out of the water!)

This isn't a Big East logo...I bet it's just something Xavier made for this season and the festivities they're holding on July 1st.

Because the presidents really just want the commissioner to be a glorified lapdog, not a true leader, that's not as big of a deal for them as it is for a lot of fans. A lot is getting done with branding, TV setup, scheduling, etc., without a commissioner, because the presidents are taking the lead.
