I suppose it would be a modern look if it was 1994.

Of the American Conference of the NFL, yes.

That's what they came up with? Do you get a starter jacket with that?

Exactly what I thought.

I hope they didnt spend too much on this.

If the conference is around in 5 years, I would be shocked

That's honestly the worst logo ever. The Sun Belt has a cooler logo.

This is the conference version of Dayton fans. They come out with some statement, logo, name, etc... Try to make it sound or look cool, when in all reality, it's a complete joke. What an awesome time to be us, eh? Thank God I went to Xavier, and not one of those crackpot schools.

Bland logo for a bland conference.

They also finally switched their Twitter handle, but they keep all the followers.

So the Big East will have to start from scratch.

Is that the whole logo, or just one half of it?
That doesn't look like an A. It looks like an oil derrick.
In fact, they stole the star from Dallas. Maybe they think they are America's league?

Should have used the duck.

That star may want to take a cold shower.

This is a branding catastrophe, but at least they are on ESPN on Tuesdays in August.

If you go to their website you'll see the teams listed. I don't see Rutgers or Louisville listed as member schools? Won't they be playing there at least one season a piece?

They may technically just be affiliate members for one year.

Hmmm. Looks familiar.

Has Arizona seen this yet??

I'm surprised they didn't go with a hacked up furball.

Maybe that's what that is.

Go check out the Houston Oilers logo from days gone by.

The logo should have been a door with all the mascots stuck trying to get out at the same time.

Apparently they are a merger of Dallas and Houston. I knew that damn thing looked like an oil derrick.
Well, with SMU and Houston, and next year Tulane and Tulsa, that's a lot of oil country.

Plus, football in August will help basketball in December...somehow.

Are you telling me that Navy couldn't win the Big East?

I feel like that logo should come with matching shield and leotard.

The AAC and its new logo got a shout out from the Wall Street Journal this afternoon.

That made me sick. A WSJ guy saying "That hat is really sharp!" = me wanting to go out and buy all that cool AAC "swag" as he called it. The Wall Street guy later said The American Athletic Conference and the commissioner interrupted him and said, "We like to call it The American"; WSJ guy apologized.

Even during the interview, they showed a picture of the AAC schools' logos and didn't include Lville & Rutgers.

Worst logo ever. 2 layer drop shadow? Gradient overlay in the logo and the lettering. Seriously who did this? First time using photoshop homie? Just click random stuff and that is their logo? God...the worst.

Commie red star? Seriously.

looks like that money they earned from espn went straight into paying for the sweet PowerPoint 2007 logo features.

3D Shadowing! Center-burst-fading (on e-v-e-r-y letter!)! We even used the WordArt function!!!1!

I think I made something similar to this logo in PowerPoint..... In 8th grade.

Yikes.

If this is what they chose I would hate to see the other options. I can't imagine an actual graphic designer looked at this and said..yeah, that's good. The gradients on each individual letter is so bad, not to mention there are 3 different versions of the letter A in the horizontal logo. Why is the star stretched like that? So so so bad.

Apex was cooler if we're talking mid-90s here.

Of course all the ESPN honks are saying that the logo is "really cool and well done".

HA!

Does anyone else think the star looks a little, how shall we say, engorged?

AAC Brand Manager: "we need a cool, edgy, hip design element in our AAC logo that is totally ownable. I'm want to go viral baby. People getting tattoos of our logo. Facebook. Twitter. Internet!"
AAC Creative Director: "how about we give just the star a boner"
