Any thoughts on this recruit from anyone who has any thoughts on this recruit?

Here's a mention (http://fromstaaktomack.wordpress.com/2013/05/07/some-off-season-notes-part-3/) in a recent blog post. I hope to put together a more in-depth post tomorrow or Tuesday.

Excellent pick up for Xavier.

Congrats to Sumner on his decision. If Semaj leaves next year, Sumner could get good minutes as a freshman.

I like that Mack and Steele landed another point guard with good size.

We definitely know that Mack and Co can recruit PG's, and you can never have too many on the roster. I think Brandon Randolph is more of a combo guard so Sumner could be the heir apparent to Semaj anyways.

Apparently if this kid can fill in to his body he is going to be a good one. Definite backup plan after Semaj leaves following this year.
Good size, can get to the rim, just real skinny.....actually probably has a better jump shot than Semaj as well.

It did help Steele was first to the party....hopefully he is not swayed away by the Wolverines or any other program as he starts to blow up. Hopefully he is like Dez.....and sticks with his commitment until November.

Swift and Sumner is a real good start to the '14 class.

Agreed - so called "experts" on these boards are claiming they want no part of a kid based off of minute long YouTube clips they watch. Kid has size, athleticism and great court vision - things you can't teach. He can add bulk and work on his shooting stroke. I love Brad, but the days of recruiting players like him are dunzo.

Did I miss someone saying they didn't want this kid?

Kellen Dunham was 6'4 160 his Jr. year. Even last year after putting on 20 lbs he looked small. I don't think Butler cares how skinny he is.

If anything is correctable in sports, it's putting weight on a 16 or 17 year old kid.

It was on Musketeer Madness. It may have been due to a jilted lover feeling after he delayed his decision for a few days. "We didn't want him anyway!"

There is your first mistake. Life is so much more fun after you eliminate the idiot factor. Not visiting that site is a step in the right direction.

Some people on that site actually do a better job of finding news articles related to Xavier than anyone over here, and it can lead to some good discussions. If you just ignore Shadow and a specific trio of malcontents, it's quite worthwhile. It's still my number three forum though.

Jesus, real actual people actually felt that way because a kid waited a week to make a really big life decision?

No, I'm just suggesting it may have unconsciously biased them against him, when they probably thought he wasn't coming here after he delayed.

I think Andrew Wiggins should join Skinny.

No, I just think he didn't possess any "sexy" offers from other major schools. Recently though Michigan St., Michigan, Illinois and others were showing interest. He does have the potential to blow up this summer and improve drastically....aka Dez Wells when he committed early.

Followed that whole travishamockery on Twitter. Man, the vitriol spewed towards Wiggins for picking Kansas was horrific.

Kentucky and UNC fans are the worst.

Kentucky and UNC fans are the worst.

Add KU fans to that mix. My KU fan honk is convinced that their fantastic class is based solely on Self being a great coach and recruiter and the lure of playing for Kansas and not booster checks clearing. He is also the same KU fan who for years has complained that UK's great classes have been bought and paid for by deep pocket boosters.

It must be fun living in Fantasyland.

Listening to Kentucky sports radio right now at work. My cooks are split n whether they are upset about it or it. They expect to get every recruit and seem to think the kid is a pathetic waste when he doesn't commit. We get some of that on here sometimes, but mostly in the end, Xavier doesn't "expect" a kid to commit just for kicks and giggles.

In the end, it makes it all the easier to root against UK down here. I won't openly admit I hate UK in Lexington, but man, do I hate UK.

I read some dreadful things..

"I hope you tear your ACL"
"Burn in the pits of hell"

What the hell is wrong with people? It's a 17 year old kid!

KU boosters have been known to work their magic. Julian Wright supposedly committed without having visited. Rumor has it his mother was shocked when he chose Kansas.

I see your point but Tyreke is far from the level of Wiggins.
