That's the most time I've spent thinking about Nebraksa basketball since the '80s.

It's so little.
As it should be, Nebraska is not big-time basketball. They don't deserve a full size court.

What is this? A Court for ants? It needs to be at least 3 times as big!

It seems to look just like their old court.

My bold prediction that I'm sure no one will remember is that Nebraska will make the NCAA Tournament within three years.

This is Nebraska we are talking about.

Actually it would be fun to wager on Nebraska or Northwestern for fastest school to get bid to the Big Dance.

That should be since March of 1991.

I like the fact that Xavier is one of the teams to deny Nebraska their first ever tournament win.

Who was on that Nebraska team? How they got a 3 seed is beyond me.

Just looked at the roster. Eric Piatkowski is probably the only name you'd recognize. Well, other than their legendary head coach: Danny Nee.

I don't think there is much hope for Northwestern.

I really like Tim Miles. He was at North Dakota State when they were a mediocre div2 team. He was there when they transitioned up to div1, and during the transtional period managed winning seasons and beat teams like Marquette and North Dakota State. He wasn't the coach when they made the NCAA Tournament the first year they were eligible for it, but he set all that into place.

He also did a fanstastic job at Colorado State. When he got there, I think they'd finished outside the top 250 four straight years, and had no fans to speak of. They improved every year, nearly made the tournament his second to last year, made it in his last year, and although he wasn't the coach this year, again he's the one that built it up and set everything into place.

Now he's at Nebraska, who indeed sucks, but they don't suck as bad as his first two teams did. They also have more resources. In his first year at Nebraska, they weren't good, but they weren't anywhere close to as bad as many were expecting them to be. This was his first year. Give him three more. They'll be in the NCAAs. I don't think they'll be topping the conference, but they will at least be competitive and be able to make the postseason. In just one year, they were noticeably better even though they didn't win that much.
