Agree with Drudy -- need some players on this list.
My picks"
- Fr. Hoff
- Sister Rose
- David West
- Byron Larkin
I would consider Bobinski (did a ton to get us where we are) and Gillen/Prosser (both coaches started the success trend at XU).

You have to give some parameters with this poll. I would say it has to be two coaches/administration and two players. Xavier basketball would not be where its currently at if not for certain players putting us on the map. This program would also not be where its currently at if not for certain admins/coaches having the foresight to see this school and program could elevate its potential.

I was doing this one for admin/coaches. Not sure how I forgot Sister Rose, tunnel vision I guess
I will start a poll for a players Mount Rushmore soon. Email me suggestions for the poll (my fandom started when I was college aged so I may need help with players pre 1997/8

I had two requirements before I chisled any more rock on Mt. Rushmore:
1. I'd have to do the chisling without holding my nose.
2. Each person selected would have to have been responsible for a true milestone for Xavier Basketball.
As a result, I selected:
Bob Staak (for being the first coach of the modern era to bring Xavier fans a basketball program in which to feel real pride)
Pete Gillen (for making Xavier the Flagship of the MCC and taking us to our first Sweet 16 with a win over the vaunted Georgetown Hoyas)
Fr. Jim Hoff (without whom there likely would not have been the Cintas Center or, possibly, our next honoree)
Mike Bobinski (for selecting an unbelievably great string of Head Coaches and bringing glory and honor to Xavier in sports across the board)
Ballyhoohoo, Check your PM's for a list of suggestions for your Xavier Players' Mt. Rushmore.

How about Mount Bustmore?
This sounds like an excellent X Lounge thread.

Fr. Graham is a tool...No wonder most people have not voted for him.

How about Mount Bustmore?
Or Mt. Bushmore?

I have a hard time keeping Skip off. He was just a great guy...and not just because he died. I just really liked him. But...Hoff and Bo were no brainers, but I think Staak really started the ball rolling, I think he deserves more credit than most people seem to give him, and Gillen moved it pretty far forward - most wins and all. By the time they got it there, Skip was able to keep it going without needing to be great at the Basketball part of it.

Or Mt. Bushmore?
Sounds like the same thread on the Lounge with Bustmore, but they have to be older pics.

Snipe, Fred Garvin, MOR, and Kahn's Krazy get my votes.
They have done more to advance this program than most of our 1000 point scorers.

And the players come and go (sometimes too soon) but Snipe, Garvin, MOR, and Kahn's carry on....especially Snipes - he really carries on.
