Meh. I think recruiting a specific state is kinda overrated. Nowadays you need to be connected to power AAU programs and Prep Schools. Locking down a state doesn't necessarily guarantee results, even a generally solid state like Indiana. I'm sure we will be fine recruiting Indiana going forward.

When deciding where to fish, you should consider 2 things. Are there fish? And are there other fishermen?
For awhile, Indiana had plenty of fish and no so many other fishermen. Sampson made a mess and Butler wasnt quite at their stature. Times have changed, and we've found another fishing hole.

I go through this thought process every time I figure out which bar I want to go to. In the end it really just depends how close the parking lot is, because I'm going to get my fish one way or the other.

We were actually recruiting a few of those guys, but it just didn't work out.

I could see you with a fish. Sounds about right.
In last night Championship game Michigan had 3 players from Indiana and Louisville had 1. So I says that's a pretty damn good fihing hole to hang out at. As someone else said, IU and Butler are forces to be reckonded with now, so recruiting Indiana has become tougher, but some average Indiana players are better than so called good players from some other states. Steele needs to get back in the game in Indiana.

I don't get this statement. Steele and Mack have been recruiting Indiana, recruited many on that list, and continue to recruit Indiana heavily in 2014 and 2015. It just didn't work out in the 2013 class. Maybe we should have taken the Evansville or William & Mary commit just so we are "in the game in Indiana"?

Sampson helped X a lot. Not syaing it was the sole reason, but we benefitted in a huge way. (So did Butler.)
