Unimpressive. How much did they pay some PR firm to come up with that?

AAC! Sounds like someone choking.

The way I see it is the former Big East is now the Big East. Teams that are no longer part of the Big East are in the AAC.

What's the fascination with the word "American?"
It's not a coast-to-coast league.
Are they going for an AFL idea, and hope to merge with the ACC down the road?

"What I like about the AAC is that you don't have the weekly grind of playing the best teams in the country for every game like we had to in the Big East...But we all know that this current form of the Big East isn't like the traditional Big East that we, UC, were part for all of 8 whole years..." - YTG

I seriously believe that they hope people confuse the ACC with the AAC. As is being reported they are going to emphasize "the American" in their media releases, twitter stuff and other social media outlets. HORRIBLE.

In all honesty, going back to the Metro held cache' to it. It had a backstory to it, so people would actually wonder about it. The AAC? It's MAAC esque

Take a lap, AAC. In fact, take two.

Oh, please tell me that's a joke.

This is as bad as when NBC paid a PR/design firm $3 million in the mid 70's to kill the peacock in favor of a very screwed up trapezoid:

People in Clifton must be gagging right about now. Maybe they could have a peacock for a conference mascot.

This logo looks wildly accurate for the AAC. Why? Well, it appears that the blue trapezoid was once part of the red trapezoid. A giant white X came between the two and now the blue has been removed from its former home atop the red, and while the red continues an ascent based on where it is pointing, the blue is now on a downward journey. Hence, the new logo being very apropos for the situation in which the teams of the AAC find themselves - once a part of something great, and now on a downward spiral to nothingness. Hurrah!

Nope. That's the NBC trapezoid, circa 1975. Perhaps NBC sold it to the owner's of that show for $30 or something.

This my favorite excerpt from the ESPN column:
"The American Athletic Conference will be the third Division I conference with a variation of America or American in its name. The others: America East and Mid-American. There's also Conference USA, which, ironically, is the league where nine of the 12 teams in the American Athletic Conference came from."

I think this conference has more in common with the MAC than just the name.

You guys just won't let this die. I would say this set my state back about 20 years, but that is impossible...we're already back there.

As an aside, I've got a friend here in Spartanburg whose daugther was Miss South Carolina (not that one on the video).
She was very bright, articulate, and not rattled at all by public speaking. Did a great job in her year advocating for suicide prevention.

Wow. I like how the new commissioner uses the term aspirational instead of inspirational......hmmmm.......what does aspirational mean? If it comes from the word aspirate then the definition of aspirate is to suck in by inhaling or suck out material from a
person's body. So, essentially, the AAC sucks, although I would enjoy a blog or website named "Yak about the AAC" just because it too would suck
