Why on earth are the Reds playing at 4?
It's so annoying how baseball destroyed that tradition.

Baseball and ESPN....and I agree it is very annoying.
Did anyone outside of Texas give a shit about the first game of the season last night? Baseball's oldest team is in Cincinnati, and the season should still begin as it used to, in Cincinnati.

GO TRIBE!!!!!
Yeah, I am fully back on the bandwagon. It doesn't take much...just a free agent signing or two. :lmao:

Obviously I'm not a big Reds fan, but it seems so completely unnecessary to change a pretty cool little tradition of having the first game in Cincinnati.
And with that I will end my usual opening day rant.

Don't you normally wait until after the men's banquet to hitch a ride?

That's weird I thought I responded to this earlier. Not sure what happened.
Quick answer...
I never stopped. I also hate Peter King, who picked them to win the east. It's far more fun when my hate comes together like this.

I see that Broxton pitched the 8th for the Reds - were the fans howling for him again?

There was some howling. I was really hoping that crap would die.
The tradition of the Reds having the first game ended over a decade ago. As long as the Reds remain the only team that gets to open at home every year, I'm fine with the designation.

They were playing a West Coast team.
Reds continue tradition of firsts: First Team, First Night Game, First Opening Day Inter-League Game

Second night game technically.
I agree with the point though that at least the Reds always open at home. That being said, I still reserve the right to complain about it every year.
