Looks like the Big East revised itself just in time and the 'Cuse is someone else's problem.

Boeheim has a been running a Huggins-esque program for decades. It just goes unreported because half the sports media are Syracuse grads.

This is an impressive list - Crimes during Boeheim's tenure (http://www.casualhoya.com/2012/12/17/3776630/jim-boeheim-900-wins-syracuse-orange-basketball)

I don't think it is any coincidence that not Cuse is out of the BE and there is an investigation. Let's just wait and see if the hammer comes down. Boeheim is a major d-bag. Always has been.

Not to demean beautiful Upstate New York, (Sorry Blue Guy) but there has to be something going on to entice recruits to decide to come to Syracuse.

Horriffc weather, and not much to do.

Bad weather? What are you talking about? Couldn't possibly be the fact that today is the first day of spring, and we got nailed with 7" of snow yesterday.

I was at one time a huge Cuse hoops fan. I have since decided that there is no #2 team for me. It's Xavier, and only Xavier.

One thing that's gotta be pretty cool for Cuse recruits though is the support the basketball team gets up here. As you mentioned, there is literally nothing to do here in the winter. EVERYONE roots for Cuse here. Its like we were all brainwashed. It doesn't matter what level of education you have. I have friends that graduated from other D-1 schools that are due hard Cuse fans. On gamedays here it's impossible to get a table in a sports bar in a 60 mile radius around Syracuse. They pack the dome 25k plus almost every game. That's gotta be pretty cool to play in front of that night in and night out.

I felt like I had to kinda sorta defend them. I'm done.

By the way. Much of this revolves around how badly Syracuse handled a sexual assault case in 2007.

People who refuse to stop screaming about how Dez Wells was "railroaded" at Xavier should read up about this Syracuse case. Handle it or it never goes away.

From A Syracuse Post Standard Story today.

"(NCAA Investigator)Meg Locker’s questions focused on how SU handled the October 2007 complaint from a freshman who said she was sexually assaulted at an off-campus party by basketball players Jonny Flynn, Scoop Jardine and Rick Jackson in their freshman year, (former Syracuse professor) David Potter said."

"(Syracuse Professor and former Dean) Cathryn Newton refused to comment on whether the NCAA interviewed her. But she said this about the alleged sexual assault case: “An arts and sciences student filed a complaint that was specific and credible, and that complaint did not progress in the usual way.”

They were placed on disciplinary probation through the spring 2011 semester, ordered to perform 30 hours of community service, to attend gender-sensitivity and domestic violence educational programs and to be evaluated to determine if they need any further counseling, the archives said.

The case was also heard in August 2008 by an Onondaga County grand jury, which did not charge the three basketball players, the archives said.

Ridpath, the former compliance officer, said the NCAA puts a four-year statute of limitations on most infractions. But there’s no expiration date for investigating more serious cases of “gross, willful and wanton disregard for the rules,” he said.

“That would certainly be the case if they were trying to keep kids eligible,” he said of the SU allegations. Unusual administrative involvement in judicial affairs would also qualify as reckless disregard for the rules, Ridpath said."

Jesus, that laundry list for Syracuse makes Huggins look like a saint.
