If you look at The Bracket Project's first four out it's pretty weak. I do think the last four in will be tough to knock due to such a weak bubble this year. I don't think Xavier is as dead as most of us think as far as an at-large bid. Obviously we would all rather have Xavier win the A-10 tournament and there a lot of teams that would have to bomb in their conference tourneys, but we're not totally out. Here is Xavier vs. the teams you want to root against in conference tournaments(sorry it's hard to format on the site):

Xavier 78 50 5-3
Team RPI SOS Top 50 record
*Boise State 38 54 4-6
Villanova 51 25 5-7
Iowa State 48 64 3-7
Kentucky 50 62 2-4
Tennessee 55 40 4-4
LaSalle 41 79 2-3
*Middle Tenn State 28 128 0-2
Virginia 67 124 4-2
Ole Miss 56 130 1-4
Southern Miss 34 89 0-5

* already eliminated from conference tournament

If Xavier can make it to the conference championship, it's not that far fetched that X could receive an at-large bid.

Currently Southern Miss up by only 3 on UAB, and Iowa St is losing by 8 at half to Oklahoma.

I have a hard time picturing us as a bubble team. We lost to Dayton and some other bad teams this season.

Is this the NIT bubble?

The bad losses hurt, but X does have good wins and a strong strenght of schedule vs. the rest of the field. X needs help to get on the right side of the bubble. If the Muskies make it to the A-10 ship, and have some teams lose early enough in their conf tourney then there may be some hope.

You know what, screw that. If we get to the final, we better just win the whole damn thing and guarantee we make the tournament.
