Big East Football died today after 21 years of mostly crappy football. BEF was on life support since 2005 but managed to hang on for several years after being told it would not last long with UC and USF eating away at its reputation and national appeal.

Very few were actually saddened by the news as most were just happy to finally see BEF pass. RIP BEF.

Last Big East football game: Louisville splattering Florida in the Sugar Bowl. That's a beautiful thing.

If we win the big east tournament next year do we get a BCS bowl invite?

I got it wrong. The Big East's demise was actually more appropriate. On January 5th, three days after the Sugar Bowl, Ole Miss spanked Pitt 38-17 in the highly anticipated BBVA Compass Bowl.

I don't know how good the league will be, or won't be, but with a name like that it's off to a terrible start.

I'm just glad that BEF is finally dead. I've wanted XU to get into the BE for a very long time and never liked how BEF ruined the BE name. Thankfully the C7 finally had enough. I guess I should thank Tulane too.

Can't wait to see attendance at the Shoe for UC - Tulane match up.
