Ha, we actually haven't even had the easiest path of the 4 teams that have made this year's Elite 8 so far. In fact, our path seems to be the toughest of the four so far:
Oregon beat 14, 11, and 7 seeds.
Kansas beat 16, 9, and 4 seeds.
Gonzaga beat 16, 8, and 4 seeds.
Xavier beat 6, 3, and 2 seeds.

Dayton's path to the EE three years ago was quite fortuitous. Then the following year, they got a PiG on their home court, then got Providence in Columbus before falling to Oklahoma (a ways away from Norman) in Columbus. Dayton has little room to talk about good fortune in the tournament.

UC fans have also banged the drum about X's fortunate tourney paths. Most of them don't remember that when UC went to the Final Four in 1991, they did not face a single team seeded higher than 5. That is just unheard of.

The only NCAA tournament team Wichita St. beat all year long was Dayton - in the tourney. Not knocking WSU because they're a solid team and they can't help what conference they play in, but they got a little fortunate in getting to play UD, who had lost their last two games of the season to GW and Davidson before the tournament, and clearly weren't playing that good of basketball.

Most Dayton fans really are delusional. In 2014, when they made the Elite Eight, they played their first two games in Columbus, virtually home games for them. Then, in the S16, they played in Memphis, less than an 8 hr drive from Dayton, whereas Stanford had to travel across the country. Stanford was a 10 seed as well.

Dayton fans don't care about that, and they shouldn't. They got to the Elite Eight. That's a good accomplishment.

Ha, we actually haven't even had the easiest path of the 4 teams that have made this year's Elite 8 so far. In fact, our path seems to be the toughest of the four so far:
Oregon beat 14, 11, and 7 seeds.
Kansas beat 16, 9, and 4 seeds.
Gonzaga beat 16, 8, and 4 seeds.
Xavier beat 6, 3, and 2 seeds.

By seedline alone (and the fact that we didn't play any upset winners) ours was going to be the toughest on paper. It's not even close. My guess is if you disregarded seeds and just looked at rankings (RPI, KenPom, take your pick) it still won't be close.

That's a tough one. I hated UC more when Huggins was there. Here's another tough on. UC vs WVU. There are a lot of Xavier fans in Indy and virtually all of them cheer for Butler (except against X of course).

Duke is in complete rebuild trying the Kentucky method basically again... UNC loses Meeks, Jackson, Berry, I think Theo Pinson is back, and probably have a great recruiting class, Louisville loses Mathiang (I don't know if anybody else has entered the draft or not), Syracuse has been a dumpster fire recently so only the world knows, Notre Dame is always solid under Mike Brey, ehhh idk, I can see them at forth, I can see them higher. It's so unpredictable with the eras of the one and done's tbh.

This was my first question as well, but I cant imagine it will. Xavier and Illinois both have some competition at guard, neither will be able to offer him a starting spot in 2018 so I'd imagine its not a factor.

Youre probably right, but I'd have to imagine a big reason we got Scruggs and Marshall was the implication that they would likely be starting or getting big minutes as true freshman. Dosunmu would probably be starting the season as our 4th best guard, which means he would likely get a lot of minutes but wouldnt start. What that means, if anything, I obviously have no idea.

The stats are helpful, you can see how his output changed when facing tougher talent, the 11 game term he had to sit out per transfer rules probably also had something to do with that.
