Thank you. That was a Xavier effort that I am sure The Hammer would have appreciated.

Amen. They played their hearts out. Looks like I am wearing my Xavier dress shirt at work on Wednesday.

Yup, those boys didn't give up. Deserved the win, great heart. Taylor had himself a damn good game!

Outmanned, outgunned, play harder and smarter, win. Not perfect, not pretty, but that is leaving it all on the floor.

It's a frustrating team to watch at times, but they give everything they have and play the game hard. Can't help but be happy for them tonight.

I love the effort this year. You can't ask for more in that department.

One way to measure the overall strength of a program is to look at how down their down years are. This is a down year for us, but we're still having some great efforts and great moments. The fans are also sticking in there. Even when major programs have years like this, the fans go away.
We're in good shape. I think tonight was a statement win for our program. It the very least (and it is the VERY least) it made a statement to me. We get way more out of the sum of our parts than the majority of the programs around the nation.

Taylor and Philmore were especially huge tonight to me.

Love every response here, but I like your point the most about setting the table for the future.
CAVEAT, they can be frustrating to watch at times, but, then again, if officials are going to start stepping into our players as they're trying to break free up court, it will become frustrating to watch almost all the time. What a dilbert move by that ref.

Isaiah has been playing great for the past 8 games. He's been averaging 10.25 pts, 4 rebounds, and 64% FG% in those 8 games. It took a while for him to adjust to our system but he is setting himself up for a Trav Taylor type of senior season. He fell hard in the very beginning of the game tonight but fought through the pain and put up great numbers.

I can't speak more highly of Philmore. He took a hard fall early on in the game, and from my angle it looked like he bounced his skull off the court, then later in the game took a shot across the nose which drew blood.
Kid never stopped, just stuffed what looked to be an earplug up there and played through it all. Love the effort. We might not win, but I am happy with this team. They are working hard, that's all I ask.
I HATE dayton.

This. Isiaih has shown me plenty. I was pretty hard on him early, but now I think that his off-season knee procedure set Hom back some. Now he is becoming a beast. I'm really excited to see him the rest of the year and his Senior year.
Chris Mack piecing 16 wins with 3 games to go is almost Unbelieveable from what we saw of these players las year. I don't ever want to see another post about "this guy hasn't gotten better". It's a credit to the coaching staff, but mostly it is a credit to the hard work of the players.
So, with a much better team talent wise last year we lose to Memphis. This year with a much less talented, but more together group we win...albeit at home.

We are going to miss the hell out of Taylor next year. He has been a MAN the entire year. And Philmore has been just awesome since January. He is efficient, he looks like he finally has his legs under him, and he knows when to take his shot. It will be nice to see him and Stainbrook operate next year. I HOPE Stainbrook finds his groove right away next year.

I have been joking of late with the ref calls and how they seem to really always go against us, that there is a conspiracy against us because of the C7 expansion and we are most likely a team to head there. Most of the time I am joking about that conspiracy, but then you see the ref play, the call against taylor late in the game, and other times where our guys get hacked and nothing is called and all of sudden I start to think there might be some legitimacy to such a conspiracy. I mean we are the Flagship for the A10.
If we can bring that kind of effort and hustle the rest of the way, then this thing won't be over til it's over.
