There aren't many teams that are overly impressive this year. Hell, look at a team like Arizona. That record is very misleading. Then again, with the lack of really good teams, the "phony" teams probably are some of the better ones out there!

1) if you're up 2 and miss the first free throw and the other team has zero timeouts...you miss the second on purpose. Their chances of winning are nearly zero percent. If you make it to go up 3, they can inbound and get a good look...stupid.
2) what on earth was Taylor doing even contesting the dude? It was obvious he was going to catch the ball far into the lane...let him catch it and run to anyone that is behind the 3 point line to guard. Not only did he follow the guy and commit the dumbest foul of the game, Robinson was staring at those two scuffle while the dude was attempting to throw a pass to the cutter for a three on the wing. Stupid.

There is more than one reason why we just aren't good.

I'm impressed with Mack's coaching. He's pragmatic. His first year coaching a lot of us were concerned that the tempo was too fast. But we had a guard heavy team. This year, without the manpower, we are playing appropriately slow. It's keeping this overmatched team in games.

I don't recall what I thought. I knew I couldn't expect much. I do know one thing though -- this team has destroyed my expectations when it comes to effort, drive and perseverance. There is a reason coaches are gushing over Mack -- this may be his best coaching yet.

At the start of the season, I said a winning record and a win against Dayton at home would make for a successful season. It is officially a successful season in my eyes. I cannot believe this team has been able to win the number of games they have with the bench they have and the lack of talent that takes the court every night. Don't get me wrong, I think there are some talented kids on this team, but, to have two walk-ons getting significant minutes doesn't lead to many victories for any program. Chris Mack was a good coach before this season, but he has become a great coach during this season. Mass respect goes his way, and mass respect goes to the majority of this roster for playing balls out every game.
