Some of the footage of this is pretty amazing. Personally, I'd shit my pants if I saw something like that streaming across the sky.

Can someone explain to me why it seems that everyone in Russia has a dash cam?

So drivers can provide courts legal evidence. Russia is a dangerous place to drive.

My friends and I saw a meteorite blow up at sunset one evening when I was 10 or so. We thought it was just out of town, and we ran to tell our parents about it. Turns out it was over the Atlantic Ocean and well over 1000 miles from where we were. They didn't believe us when we told them we saw it. We didn't believe them when they later told us it was over the Atlantic.

It was an awesome, awesome, awesome display, but I was terrified of falling space objects for several years after that.

The Soviets killed around 35-45 million of their own people under communism. I doubt this compares. You would shit your pants because you have that comfort to do so.
