Still first half but GW with a double digit lead over Rhody. GW pulls out a few wins down the stretch and it could be no AC for UD.

I guess the Colonials want to go to Atlantic City after all...
still the second half to play but they do have a 18-point cushion

I still find it amazing why people would rather have GW upset URI and knock them out of the NCAAs just to see UD fall in the standings. Look back two weeks from now and ask yourself why you would want fewer teams from the A10 in the dance.

i agree 100%... there is no way we want less a-10 teams in the tourney... gw has 3 more tough games and there prolly gonna lose some...dayton has some easy games left so expect them to win out... a rhode island win will keep them alive but a win for gw just means that they are tied with dayton, even if dayton wins against fordham(albeit gw has the tiebreak over dayton =p )

this is not good for UD. if this score holds up, they'll be tied with gw for 12th place, and gw holds the tiebreaker. that makes their game against fordham later this week a must win game, or chances are they won't be playing in atlantic city.

has there ever been a bigger meltdown?? ole miss is trying to match the flyers and win the award for the most highly ranked team that turned to shit. they're down 31-14 to kentucky going into the half.

It isn't like we get to vote on what is going to happen and then it happens that way. With the prospect of Dayton getting completely shut out after the regular season, some of us have taken to the idea fondly. I still don't think it'll happen, but if it does I'm not going to be upset because it cost an A10 team a bid.

It looks to me like some of the A10 teams were more pretenders than contenders anyway. The league is better than in the past couple years, but it isn't so strong that anyone should be able to beat anyone. If RI misses out that is their problem.

As far as Dayton maybe finishing 13th, there is a possibility that there could be more than 2 teams tied for that honor. I don't know how it'll shake out, but the teams ahead of them in the standings aren't exactly distancing themselves from the cellar. There is a big mess down there.

I was rooting for URI. UD has to be getting nervous at this point though. Boy would missing out on AC be a legendary collapse.

It's official, URI has lost its 5th in a row. They go from being ranked at 20-3 to being rank. Is the A10 closer to a 2 bid conference than a 5 bid with the meltdowns of URI & UD?

Ouch. Rhodey got swatted by 17 by GW. Hey what the hell it helps our RPI (we play GW twice).

I noticed that RI's non-con SOS is 2nd worse in the A10, better than only Bonaventure and LaSalle. I wonder how much the weak schedule hurt RI in preparation for conference play. According to the RPI, RI's non-con SOS ranks 203rd.

I know some in the ud community that are already calling for BG's head. But if ud misses the A-10 tourney, doesn't he have to be fired even with his recruiting ability, which take away wright and it has been pretty tame imho?

I don't believe it...but if UD loses to Fordham on Saturday...they won't make the A-10 Tournament. Wow.

You people also forget that UD still has a game at St. Bonaventure - this is likely going to be at worst a 1-1 roadie for Dayton. If they manage an 0-2 roadie, then Senior Day against St. Joe's will be their last game of the year at home.

UD will likely go 1-2 in their final three games (losses to Fordham and SJU). If that's the case, it's over. No postseason of any kind.

kyxu, you really think GW will eke out a win out of @X, @Char, and home to UMass? If UD goes 1-2 and GW goes 0-3, UD is in Atlantic City.

I think that is part of it. I also think that the weak non-con schedule blinded everyone to the fact that URI just isn't that good. They play some of the worst defense in the A-10.

I do. GW has been playing a lot better lately. I think they could take down UMass at home, or at Charlotte. Or maybe we should just tank the game on Saturday to keep UD out.
