Myself and others have made this an annual trip for several years now... I remember we sat in the corner at Consol last year with a solid contingent of X fans. Where is everybody sitting this year? As of now, appears to be an ample supply of tickets left all over the arena.
Thanks.

My wife got me tickets to this for christmas but she ordered on Ticketmaster, not through XU ticket office so I'm fearing a high-up seat with DUQ fans (if any still exist) vs the lower section, cushioned seat I enjoyed last time at Consol.
Any recommendations on good places to eat in the area?

I think the upper seats were blocked off 2 years ago, so you might be ok. As far as eating...Primanti's is way over-rated - we could use some ideas too!
The Church Brew works was ok, but the service was slow - www.churchbrew.com

I'm glad we're playing them there. I feel a lot better about our chances of winning at Consol as opposed to in their crackerbox on-campus gym.

I hope that's the case Frambo, thanks. I was gonna wait til next week to bring this up but since we are discussing it...I'm also up for hotel suggestions in Pittsburgh if anyone has any. I haven't used hotwire.com in a while but thinking I might just roll the dice and see what I get with that (last time I did, I got a $180/night hotel for about $110 if I remember right).
The Marriott right by Consol looks nice but not sure there is anything cool to walk to from there (other than Consol of course).

Marriott is right at the Consol. We stay a few blocks away at the Doubletree.

I went the first year they played at that arena. I enjoyed the fact that we won and won handily but their quote unquote "fans" were the dumbest and most annoying set of fans i have been around at an opposing arena. I am convinced that most of them thought they were there for a University of Pittsburgh game as none of the so called fans around me know anything about Duquesne history. And the straw that broke the camels back was whenever we actually came back with an well conceived thought out rebuttal they would just reply with the number 6 because they thought everyone that was in that arena had to have come from Cincinnati and been bengals fans (no offense to bengal fans).
I am happy to just watch this game from the more friendly confines of my home or local bar.

I've never been there personally, but my parents love Lidia's (http://www.lidias-pittsburgh.com/) (Italian restaurant.) They visit her St. Louis location whenever they pass through.

Actually, KC4X, we go to Lydia's in Kansas City, MO every time we go west and return east. We definitely would love to go to her Pittsburgh restaurant.

Go there on my 2nd-3rd leg to Colorado every year. Great stuff. Came home last year and ordered the pasta sauce on her website. Now I have to go finish off the final jar.
