I've always thought that guy was a Horriffic coach, but had comromising pictures of Athletic Directors so he always could get a job. He got on my bad side initially when he was at Marquette, by dissing Xavier and the MCC. He said the league held him back in recruiting. Somehow he got Tennessee to hire him, then fire him, then Northwestern to hire and fire him, then Arizona to hire, then fire him and then USC to hire and then fire him, despite the fact that the guy had a 171-180 record all time before USC hired him.

He did win a game against the dump this year....I'll give him that.

He'd be a great assistant for Bobby Thuggins, right along side Billy Hahn.

Agree...I sat courtside once for an X/MU game...non stop cursing.. Fbombs galore..don't remember if he ever coached against Staak, but that would have been a game for the ages to be on sideline. Staak's vocabulary was basically f this f that. The two together would make a Marine blush.

I grew up w/ Marquette basketball before heading to Xavier. O'Neil is quite the douche. He will wind up some where, probably in the NBA somewhere as a 4th assistant coach.

Just read the story. Noticed that Ari Stewart was now at USC after transferring from Wake. Remember Ari? Wasn't he our main target before choosing Wake? We later took a commitment from Parrom, which later turned into Robinson. Isn't that right?

Stewart has 4-5 games where he played 0 mintes this year. Hasnt scored a point since November. Not sure if hes hurt, but hes not producing when he plays.

Wonder if SC takes a look at as MOR calls him Kid Yuma. He has ties to the area from his days at Arizona and seeing what his brother has done out there they may take a look.

I would say that Miller should do something at Dayton first....but O'Neill never really did much anywhere and he got the USC job, so that's obviously not a prereq.

I sat next to visiting coaches at the X scoring table for 17 years, and O'Neill is the biggest jerk, loudest most vile mouth and worst bench coach I have ever seen. Champion whiner. He and Huggins "liked" each other, but for Hugs it must have been because ONeill made even him look good.

ONeill was a feature player in the Best Xavier comeback in the final minute, EVER: X @ Marquette, :50 left, Marquette leading by 8 and shooting the bonus. O'Neill is high fiving his players and carrying on like a moronic junior high cheerleader. Bonus missed, X scores, then steals the ball twice in a row on the out of bounds, Jamie Gladden scores both times and the game goes to OT, and X puts them away. I had made the journey to Milwaukee, and there were few Xavier fans, but ohhh we were giving it to him.
