For thos who didn't watch/listen. The Xavier women put up one hell of a fight, battled back from a 15 point deficit at half to get back in the game.
The were still 11 points down under 8 minutes left. really had an exciting finish. Defense helpd them without a field goal in the last 6 minutes,,,couple more free throws (3 misses in the final 5 minutes)and they'd be celebrating an epic comeback win,,, have to put this in the confidence builder, good work!
Duquesne is one of the better teams in the conference.

That first half they looked like they had no idea how to run an offense. Around the final media timeout of the first half they were something like 3-15 shooting with 15 turnovers.
The second half seemed like more of the same at first- Duquesne even pushed the lead up to 20 - and then I don't know what happened, but they obviously figured something out. What made it more impressive was they did it without Crouch (not there) or Pachko (in street clothes) the entire game. I think having Wanninger out there after some first-half foul trouble helped and Gray's will really showed, too.
Ultimately, the slow start, a couple missed putbacks after initially getting the lead down to six, and poor FT shooting (13-24) caught up to them.
And there was even a Kristine Rose sighting with a first-half basket.

Just saw a pix of Ashley Wanninger on facebook, she took one in the right eye, looks like she got a stitch, and has quite a shiner going. I suspect there's some of the flu going around

I didn't see what happened, but she had a big bandage just above that eye in the second half.
They seemed to call it a bit tighter in the second half, which worked to our advantage (despite the poor FT shooting). Coach Waugh got a technical in the first half because they were really lettings things go.

Does anyone know why Lakeisha Crouch has not played the last three games? Tonight against Butler they played with seven players. No Pachko, Crittenden, or Crouch. What is going on with this team? Last year we lost players for various reasons and played with not enough. If anyone knows what is going please let us know.

From what I have heard on campus Pachko is out with foot problems and I did see her in a boot lately. Crittenden had her appendix out on Tuesday unexpectantly and is starting her recovery and as far as Crouch all I have heard is she is out for personal reasons that does not have anything to do with the team or coaches. These seven players are fighting along with the coaches to keep this team together. They seems to get more adversity thrown at them then I have ever heard of but they just keep on fighting. Keep it up ladies we are proud of the way you fight till the end every game. Lets hope things turn around for them soon. Go X!

Very proud of this team and the coaches... They are giving it everything they got with all this out of their control adversity. Most of the players are on the floor 30+ minutes each pushing as hard as they can. Let's keep up our support for this team as things will change in their favor as players come back and hopefully soon. Go X!!!
