Just curious as I have almost no interest in any if the games and as we all know, football and the money machine are dictating the entire landscape of college athletics.

I stayed home from the Gator Bowl today, allegedly to flip around the dial to witness the annual humiliation of the B1G.
That's how it's going so far.

No joke.
Miss. State goes down to Northwestern.
Huskers up on the Dawgs.
Meatchicken turning momentum on the Gamecocks.

We have missed mucho opportunities to create big lead in this one. Just wasted long Shaw run and got nada.

Another opportunity squandered. Michigan has stepped up.

Paul, that's the greatest play of the year in college football. WOW!

What a wild game. Obvious missed first down call. Clowney causes fumble.
Now crazy play in the endzone to Sanders.
Great game.

Agreed. That Clowney hit after the ref blew the call was one of the coolest plays I've ever seen.
Can't get enough college football on New Year's Day. I was flipping between 3 games for a while...I wish there were multiple games on at once the rest of the night (kinda like March Madness) but I'll take it.
Watching Bowl Games is similar to watching preseason football,,, 3 1/2 hrs of a meaningless game. The only game worth watching is Monday's ND Ala game. The rest are a waste of time.

Totally agree
Winning the Rose Bowl means what exactly ?
Who the F cares.
Next year with a playoff, I'll watch a little b/c the games actually mean something.

I don't care about outcome for the games. I just watch hoping for good completive games. I am also watching the Marquette-UCONN game right now.

The Clemson and South Carolina were really good football games. Not sure about the rest; didn't watch much of them.

I don't get how Big 10 football is such a big deal with the networks and TV $.
They are 2-7 in bowl games; one win by NW, and one by Mich State whose conference record was 3-5.
I guess their two best teams didn't even play.

The reason is the BIG has lots of cornfed fans, who will pay their cable company to watch their alma maters on tv. And between the 12 of them they have a gazillion alumni.

Ding ding ding...completely worthless.
I enjoyed the Nebraska and Wisconsin games, but only because my in-laws are fans. Otherwise, I can't understand the appeal unless you're just a fan of football for football's sake, which I'm not.

Ding ding ding...completely worthless.
While the outcome of these bowl games can be considered worthless in determining a national champion, what I hope for and got a couple of times the last two days was entertaining games. What I consider as completely worthless is NBA regular season. Damn near everybody is going to make the playoffs, so why have so many regular season games?
