What a great game tonight - St. Joes- Notre Dame!
St Joes wins 79-70 in OT. Lost teeth, cramps and a great comeback by the Hawks!

The starters played all but 11 minutes (of an overtime game) and scored all the points for St. Joe's. Do they have injuries or are they that thin?

Wasn't one of the Hawk players suspended for the early part of the season? That may have had something to do with it.

St. Joes looks good. No surprise they are favored to win the A10.

Did that bird thing flap the whole game?

Carl Jones?
Correct.
Thing is that everyone is talking about how thin Xavier is, but both St. Joes and ND basically played only 7 guys the whole game. When Jones comes back, that would be 8. If you really look at it, very few college teams play more than 8 in a rotation.

I've come to believe their mascot is pretty dumb. Standing around flapping for an entire game isn't all that much. In fact, having to do that precludes their mascot from doing more creative things, though I have no opinion on what other creative things it could possibly do.

St Joes has some talent particularly inside.
Their guard play looked ok. Maybe Jones makes them a much different team.

What???! The Hawk is a great mascot. I remember when the Ram from Rhode Island tried to put a rubber tube over him to stop. Even when fighting he keep one arm flapping.

Now that was funny, and I applaud the kid in the suite at the time for fighting to keep the tradition going.
Having offered that, it (he, she) looks stupid standing still, let alone when they crank up the endless flapping.

I've been to Hawk Hill a few times, and it;s pretty funny to see the Hawk running around the court. The thing looks like a broken down Muppet.

I'm with dc on this issue. The hawk is awesome. He sprinted onto the floor tonight and beat a fl state player to the spot during a timeout. Hawks faded down the stretch tonight but are very formidable.
