The first states in the US to legalize the recreational use of marijuana!

Regulate it, tax it, and I am sure this will be a big boom to the economy of these states.

I just hope the feds leave them alone, and allow these states to move forward with their plans.

Great Day to be an American!!

When do you move?

As far as the Feds staying out??? Didn't they just bust a bunch of medical marijuana sellers in California and seize their assets?

Now we've got to take care of online gambling. It needs to happen. The revenue from legalized online gambling would be through the roof.

And sports gambling in casinos outside of Vegas as well. Christie's making a big push for it and once he wins it will open the door for every other state to do the same.

If online is legalized, this almost becomes moot. Though it would be fun to go over the Churchill Downs, bet a few races, bet a few college football games, have a beer or ten and take it all in.

Yeah, that's what the casinos and tracks would most likely sell - the experience. A big Saturday in the fall when you have college football and hoops starting up, conference and NCAA tourneys, bowl games.

Plus I think this gets legalized before online because the states will be pushing for it.

What exactly prohibits sports gambling outside of Vegas?

We just voted for table games here in Maryland. Good times!

Some NCAA-backed legislation from '92. Wikipedia says: "In the US, the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 allows only Nevada, Oregon, Montana, and Delaware to legally wager on sports." Essentially states that already had something on the books were grandfathered.

Add in lighting up a J during that time and that would literally be the best experience that could ever occur to man.

Don't they have a lottery game tied to the NFL?

I don't believe they have any sportsbooks open so you can't. However, technically, they would not be violating federal laws if they opened one, due to the grandfathering law. Nearly every other US state would not be allowed to open one though.

I think they have parlay cards or something like that.

Why aren't people opening it up if they can? Now I'm getting a little pissed.

How is it that Twinkies and DingDongs are going all bankrupt while pot is becoming more and more legal. Possible solution, relocate to the left coast?

My dear Mama Mia (90) has two authorized MM cookies a day and is even more of a trip to hang out with than ever.

Something like 8 days from now, Pot will no loger be illegal to posses where I live. It's weird. It's not like people talk about it. there is nothing in the news or word of mouth of how it will be sold, which is also not illegal when done to whatever reg standards there might be...

But nothing. Not a word spoken. It's like everyone is waiting for someone else to bring it up. Where can I buy some weed?
